Ho Chi Minh City leaders visit and present gifts to outstanding artists

On the afternoon of May 30, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, representing the city's leaders, visited and presented gifts to outstanding artists, including poet Hoai Vu, musician Truong Quang Luc and Meritorious Artist Phi Dieu.

Also accompanying the delegation were Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Chief of Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and Mr. Nguyen Truong Luu, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Literature and Arts Associations.

This is a meaningful and practical activity to recognize and express gratitude for the contributions of artists in general, artists who participated in the revolution, artists who won the State Prize, Ho Chi Minh Prize, People's Artists, Meritorious Artists who have worked and contributed to the development of literature and art in the city over the past 50 years.

At the private residence of poet Hoai Vu (Binh Trung Tay ward, Thu Duc city), Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy warmly visited and expressed gratitude for poet Hoai Vu's profound contributions to the literature and arts of the South before liberation, especially Ho Chi Minh City after the country's reunification.

Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, poet, is always healthy and continues to create, build, and contribute ideas to the city in literary and artistic activities.

Visiting musician Truong Quang Luc at his home in Tan Binh district, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy thanked him for his contributions to the country in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular, especially to children.

Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy wished the musician's family good health, continued contributions to the city's literature and arts, and to be an example for young artists.

Welcoming the delegation at his home, Meritorious Artist Phi Dieu happily recounted happy memories of participating in the parade and performing in the grand ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

She also shared many joys in life, the happiness of still being able to work and stick with art.

Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy wished the female artist good health, a happy life, and to participate in cultural and artistic activities of Ho Chi Minh City in the near future on the occasion of the city organizing activities to summarize 50 years of literature and art.

On the same morning, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City Tran The Thuan visited and presented gifts to painter Dang Ai Viet.

Here, comrade Tran The Thuan expressed: “Each portrait she drew helped viewers feel more clearly and deeply about the lives of each heroic Vietnamese mother. And the painter herself is also very special, she is a Labor Hero of the renovation period, a heroic woman with a journey across the country to draw portraits of heroic Vietnamese mothers ”.

Recently, the Center for Geographic Information System Application, under the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, launched the website "Portraits of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers" (https://chandungme.vn/), built since January 2020, to digitize more than 3,000 portraits of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers by artist Dang Ai Viet from 2010 to present.
