Recently, Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai chaired a meeting to listen to the consulting unit report on the plan for the expressway connecting the three provinces of Binh Thuan - Lam Dong - Dak Nong, the section passing through Binh Thuan province.
According to the report of Southern Transport Design Consulting Joint Stock Company (consulting unit), the expressway connecting Binh Thuan - Lam Dong - Dak Nong provinces after completion will be a modern expressway with large capacity, safety, effectively connecting with the planned and regional road network; meeting the increasing transportation demand in the future; creating momentum to promote socio -economic development, tourism, industry; ensuring national defense - security; serving the development and integration of Lam Dong province (new). At the same time, specify and propose to supplement the national road network planning.
Specifically, the expressway connecting Binh Thuan - Lam Dong - Dak Nong provinces, after completion, will form an important, strategic high-speed horizontal expressway connecting major economic, political and cultural centers of Phan Thiet City (Binh Thuan) - Da Lat City (Lam Dong) - Gia Nghia City (Dak Nong).
This will significantly reduce travel time and costs for transporting goods and passengers between Binh Thuan - Lam Dong - Dak Nong provinces compared to existing routes, improving transport efficiency. Thereby, ensuring large traffic capacity, meeting long-term forecasted transport demand, and relieving pressure on existing national highways.
The route is designed according to modern highway standards, with controlled access, median strips, emergency lanes, and advanced signaling systems to minimize traffic accidents. Thereby, promoting the development of industry, high-tech agriculture, tourism, logistics services; attracting investment; expanding space, creating land funds and conditions for new urban and rural development.
The formation of this expressway will add an important expressway to the national road network according to the plan, filling the gap of direct connection between the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands along the horizontal axis; ensuring smooth and fast connection between functional areas, administrative and economic centers of Lam Dong province (new) after the merger.
At the meeting, leaders of relevant departments, branches and localities discussed and analyzed each investment plan for the construction of the expressway connecting Binh Thuan - Lam Dong - Dak Nong provinces that the consulting unit had presented.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai said that the investment plan for the expressway connecting the three provinces of Binh Thuan - Lam Dong - Dak Nong is expected to be about 140.6km long, the section through Binh Thuan province is about 43.9km long; the section through Lam Dong province is about 61.9km long; the section through Dak Nong province is about 34.8km long, which is the most feasible plan for connecting the three centers of the three provinces. This is the shortest plan, with the most favorable terrain and route, and can connect with the North-South expressway in the West and East.
However, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai also requested the consulting unit to collect, survey, evaluate and supplement the basis to determine the volume of goods and passenger traffic on the route in the overall traffic network in the region and calculate logistics costs for goods. On that basis, determine the scale of investment in the expressway connecting the three provinces of Binh Thuan - Lam Dong - Dak Nong to ensure the effectiveness of the project, avoid waste; the process of building the investment plan for this route should pay attention to assessing the environmental impact, using the least amount of forest land...
Up to now, Binh Thuan province has had 3 expressways passing through, including: Cam Lam - Vinh Hao, Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet, Phan Thiet - Dau Giay. Thereby, contributing to promoting the economic and social development of the locality.
