
According to the Food Safety Department, the warning was issued after the unit received a report from the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Public Health on the results of testing surveillance samples that discovered that the Hong Hac Phuc Linh weight loss capsule product contained the banned substances Sibutramine, Desmethylsibutramine and Didesmethylsibutramne.
Specifically, the above product was sampled at Nhat n gan Pharmacy (at lot number 13, Cho Gao Trade Center, Cho Gao district, Tien Giang province).
Information on the product label states: GMP 2024 Health Protection Food Hong Hac Phuc Linh Weight Loss Capsules (batch number: 01022024, Manufacturing date 9-2-2024, Expiry date 8-2-2027). Responsible trader and distributor: Phu Hung Me., JSC (at No. 16, Lane 159 Lach Tray, Lach Tray Ward, Ngo Quyen District, Hai Phong City).
The product is manufactured at HADU Factory, a branch of Hadu International Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (at Lot CN20, Luong Dien Industrial Park, Luong Dien Commune, Cam Giang District, Hai Duong Province).
Regarding the above information, the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene of Hai Phong City and the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene of Hai Duong Province worked with the unit responsible for distributing the product, Phu Hung Me., JSC, and the manufacturing unit (HADU Factory, a branch of HADU International Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company).
Through investigation, the two above units confirmed that they did not produce the batch of Hong Hac Phuc Linh weight loss capsules with the above information on the label.

For the safety of consumers, while the authorities are handling the case, the Food Safety Department warns and recommends that consumers do not buy or use products with the above information; in case this product is found circulating on the market, please notify the authorities for handling in accordance with the provisions of law.
Sibutramine is on the list of banned substances used in the production and trade of health food. This is a substance that promotes a feeling of fullness and reduces appetite.
In addition, Sibutramine also has the ability to act on fat tissue to increase fat breakdown, thereby increasing energy consumption. However, Sibutramine causes many dangerous side effects to the user's health such as: increased heart rate, difficulty breathing, agitation, hallucinations, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle cramps.
Desmethylsibutramine also has a similar structure to Sibutramine, causing harmful reactions to health.
