According to the decision, the classification, storage, transfer, collection, transit, transportation, and treatment of domestic solid waste (garbage) are carried out in accordance with the waste management regulations in Ho Chi Minh City issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and related current regulations.
Prices for collection, transportation and treatment of domestic solid waste are implemented according to regulations of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and related current regulations.
Waste is classified at source in accordance with management and treatment purposes, divided into 3 groups, including waste that can be reused and recycled; food waste; and other solid household waste.
Also according to the decision, in urban areas and concentrated residential areas, equipment, means and locations must be arranged for source classification, collection and storage of waste suitable to the amount and type of waste generated by households and individuals.
In residential areas and dispersed residential clusters, there must be a place to collect domestic solid waste to ensure it does not pollute the environment before transporting it to a treatment location according to regulations.

Regarding waste management in public places, on main streets, commercial areas, squares, parks, entertainment areas, residential areas, traffic hubs and other public areas, there are public trash bins with classification and labels for people to recognize and classify.
Waste storage facilities must be sized appropriately for storage time, volume and collection frequency, ensuring environmental and urban aesthetics.
The management and provision of public trash collection and cleaning services is carried out in accordance with the regulations of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the management of domestic solid waste in Ho Chi Minh City and related current regulations.
Regarding preferential policies and support for waste management activities, during the management process, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee considers and directs departments, branches and sectors to study policies to support interest rates for loans to purchase and convert vehicles serving the collection and transportation of waste; Support the application of information technology in database management and waste management; Support and transfer technology to encourage organizations and individuals in the community to participate in waste recycling...
