Fire at Doc Lap apartment building in Ho Chi Minh City causes serious consequences

At 10:00 p.m. on July 6, a major fire broke out at Doc Lap Residence, Phu Tho Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, killing eight people. Authorities have cordoned off the scene and are investigating the cause of this particularly serious fire.

Initial information, after 10 pm on the same day, smoke and fire suddenly broke out from the ground floor at block A of Doc Lap apartment building, address 80/7 Do Doc Long street, Phu Tho Hoa ward, Ho Chi Minh City. Discovering the incident, many people used water hoses and mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire but failed, the fire then flared up fiercely, people living in the apartment building panicked and ran to the ground.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police, Ho Chi Minh City Police mobilized many specialized fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire and organize rescue work.

By 11pm, the fire was completely extinguished. Through firefighting and rescue work, in addition to many motorbikes, bicycles and cars burned to the frame, the authorities discovered the bodies of 08 victims, then took 02 adults, 02 children to Thong Nhat Hospital and 04 adults to Tan Phu Hospital to complete related procedures.

The cause and damage of this particularly serious fire are being investigated and clarified by authorities.
