Test run of the "Port Visit" tour

Accordingly, Hai Phong Tourism Association has submitted a plan to develop and pilot the exploitation of a tourism program by train visiting Hai Phong port to the City People's Committee for consideration and approval.

Based on the proposals of travel agencies and hotels in the inner city on researching, developing and diversifying tourism products in Hai Phong city, thereby gradually restoring tourism activities in the inner city and neighboring areas, attracting more and more tourists to visit, experience, stay and use services.

The railway tour connecting Hai Phong Station and Hoang Dieu Port was tested by the Hai Phong City Tourism Association from mid-May 2024.

Along with the success of the Hai Phong Foodtour program based on the exploitation of the Hanoi - Hai Phong railway; Hai Phong Tourism Association and tourism businesses are particularly interested in tourist attractions associated with the history of the city's formation and development related to this railway line, including:

Hai Phong Station and the inner-city railway were formed more than 120 years ago; Hai Phong Port with a history of more than 100 years associated with the development process of Hai Phong city; Wharf 6 warehouse; Wharf where President Ho Chi Minh returned from France; Uncle Ho's Monument with Port Workers; Hai Phong Port Station and the railway section from Hai Phong Station to Port Station...

In May and June 2024, the train departing from Hai Phong port sightseeing station will run on a trial basis with a frequency of 1-2 trips/week.

According to the pilot plan, the City tour program “The ship visits the port” will be built in phases. Phase 1 is when Hoang Dieu port is still operating, phase 2 is when Hoang Dieu port has been relocated to serve the city’s planning.

“In May and June 2024, the train departing from Hai Phong port sightseeing station will run on a trial basis with a frequency of 1-2 trips/week. From July 2024, after the trial period, the operation will be expanded to 1 trip/day based on actual market demand.

Main attractions: Hai Phong Station - Hai Phong Port Station - Hoang Dieu Port (Warehouse 3-4, Port Workers Monument, Port Traditional House, Port Workers Activity House).

According to information from the Hai Phong Tourism Association, the city tour program "Port Visit" is designed as an independent inner-city tour program or will be combined with other programs such as walking tours of monuments and scenic spots in the city center, Food Tour program; Bach Dang Giang, Do Son tour program... with the goal of keeping visitors in Hai Phong longer.
