Check-in at Luu Xa station

In the early autumn morning, Luu Xa station, which was usually peaceful, suddenly became bustling with many young people holding phones and cameras, posing next to old train cars and checking in at the station. After the movie “Red Rain” was released, Luu Xa station, which marked the sacrifice of 60 youth volunteers, became a new “meeting place” on the check-in map of Thai Nguyen youth.

After more than half a century, Luu Xa station still has walls stained with time, wooden bars, and rails with a nostalgic appearance. This place is not only a simple station but also a historical “witness”, quietly preserving the heroic memories of the homeland.

Because of that value, Luu Xa station was chosen by the film crew of “Red Rain” as the setting for an important scene. During the days the film crew worked here, each train car, each stair, each corner of the station seemed to come alive with the image of youth volunteers, the train whistle recalling a time of war and war.

Ms. Nguyen Tuyet Ngan, Dai Phuc commune, one of many young people who checked in at Luu Xa station, when posting personal photos on social networks, received many likes, shares, and positive comments. "After watching the movie "Red Rain", I decided to come here to record meaningful images. When posting on my personal page, I did not think I would receive many interactions. Through these photos, I feel very proud of my hometown Thai Nguyen " - Tuyet Ngan shared.

As soon as “Red Rain” premiered, the scene at Luu Xa station made Thai Nguyen audiences especially emotional. On Facebook, TikTok of many Thai Nguyen people... appeared photos checking in at the station with the hashtag #GaLuuXa #MuaDo...

Each frame recreates the angle of the film, each word expresses pride in the history of the homeland. Many posts attract hundreds of likes, comments, and shares, turning a seemingly peaceful place into a "hot" destination in Thai Nguyen in recent days.

The atmosphere at Luu Xa station these days is not only filled with the laughter and chatter of young people. Many middle-aged locals, who used to just quietly pass by the station, are now also eager to check in.

Ms. Vu Thi Thom, Tich Luong ward, over 50 years old this year, said: My childhood is associated with the station, in the mornings waiting for the train at the station, I went with my mother to sell tea here. When watching the movie, right at the beginning, I saw the image of Luu Xa station, I cried because I saw my childhood in the image of the old train station. My friends and I came here to check-in, seeing our hometown is so beautiful and meaningful.

Those who have been attached to Luu Xa station for decades could not hide their emotions. Mr. Pham Hung Dung, Deputy Head of Luu Xa station, recalled: When the film crew of “Red Rain” came to film at the station, we were both honored and pressured, wanting to support the crew to have the best scenes. When the film was released and I was able to sit in the theater and watch the scene of my own station on the big screen, I was very emotional, as if I was reliving a part of the history associated with this place.

Not only is it a "hot" check-in spot on social networks, Luu Xa Station is also a red address in traditional education . Along with that, the attention of tourists and the online community also opens up opportunities for Luu Xa Station to develop into a destination for cultural and historical tourism, contributing to promoting the image of Thai Nguyen, spreading the spirit of "Drinking water, remembering its source" to friends inside and outside the province.
