Mr. Bach Quoc Dung - Head of Nghe An Forestry Sub-Department, said: Forest fire prevention and fighting in Nghe An has faced many difficulties in the past time, however, the Sub-Department has proactively deployed synchronous solutions with the motto of taking prevention as the main thing, ready to respond quickly when an incident occurs.
Since the beginning of 2025, the Forest Protection Department has established three working groups to inspect forest fire prevention and fighting in key areas. Field inspections help to assess specific risks, thereby developing forest protection plans that are close to local realities.
Across the province, the Forest Protection Departments have also proactively implemented many specific measures to reduce the risk of forest fires. Typically, at Yen Thanh Forest Protection Department, more than 50 km of firebreaks have been completed and the vegetation of over 350 hectares of pine forest has been treated. At the same time, 9 commune-level Forest Fire Prevention and Fighting Steering Committees have also been strengthened.

Nghe An Forest Protection Department has also directed forest owners, organizations, individuals and local authorities to strictly implement the work of collecting and processing vegetation, building and maintaining the firebreak system. The system of fire watchtowers, fire prohibition signs, forest fire forecast boards and propaganda panels have been reviewed, supplemented and installed in high-risk areas to raise warnings.
Faced with unusual weather conditions, prolonged heat and high risk of fire, the Provincial Forest Protection Department has increased the application of technology in monitoring and early warning. The unit has assigned specialized departments to continuously monitor the situation through the Nghe An Forest Resources Management and Monitoring System, while updating daily information from the Forestry Department and Forest Protection, along with a system of 12 forest surveillance cameras installed in key areas.

Through the satellite image forest fire early warning system, fire outbreaks are detected promptly and information is transferred to localities and forest owners for quick inspection, verification and handling, preventing fires from spreading widely.
To increase proactiveness, the Forest Protection Department directed localities to develop plans for forest fire prevention and fighting according to the motto "4 on-site" (forces, command, means, on-site logistics) and "5 ready" (ready forces, means, materials, information and response).

One of the key contents is propaganda work, raising people's awareness. 100% of households living near the forest have been propagandized and signed a commitment to safely burn the ground cover to plant acacia.
Control of people and vehicles entering and leaving the forest is also strictly implemented. Forest rangers, forest protection teams and local authorities regularly patrol to promptly detect acts of slash-and-burn farming and illegal vegetation disposal...

With high determination and synchronous participation of authorities at all levels, forest rangers and people, to proactively prevent and minimize damage caused by forest fires.
