Prime Minister requests to focus on ensuring domestic water supply for people in the Mekong Delta

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Official Dispatch No. 34/CD-TTg dated April 8, 2024 on focusing on ensuring domestic water supply for people during peak saltwater intrusion periods in the Mekong Delta.

The Prime Minister requested the Ministers of the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, Natural Resources and Environment, Construction, Information and Communications and the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities in the Mekong Delta region to review the freshwater reserves in the area to have a plan to balance and regulate freshwater sources for daily life and production in accordance with the actual water conditions in each area.

Prime Minister directs to remove difficulties for medicinal herb export activities

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Official Dispatch 35/CD-TTg dated April 10, 2024 sent to the Minister of Health and the Minister of Finance on removing difficulties for medicinal herb export activities.

The dispatch requests the Ministry of Health, according to its assigned functions, tasks and authority, to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and relevant agencies to urgently review, study, amend and perfect the Ministry's regulations on the import and export of medicinal materials, ensuring the quick removal of obstacles to facilitate production and business activities of enterprises according to regulations; the amendment of regulations for this activity must be completed before April 25, 2024.

Ensuring traffic order and safety during the April 30 - May 1 holiday

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang signed Official Dispatch No. 36/CD-TTg dated April 11, 2024 of the Prime Minister on ensuring traffic order and safety to serve people's travel needs during the April 30-May 1 holiday and the peak summer tourism season in 2024.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Transport to direct its affiliated agencies, Departments of Transport and transport businesses to develop transport organization plans to meet people's travel needs, ensure traffic safety, reduce traffic congestion, etc.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Decision 298/QD-TTg promulgating a list of 47 public service units under the Ministry of Education and Training.

Providing rice to 2 localities during the crop gap in early 2024

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai signed Decision No. 297/QD-TTg dated April 10, 2024, assigning the Ministry of Finance to issue 746,805 tons of rice from the national reserve to 2 provinces: Dien Bien and Bac Kan to support people during the crop gap in early 2024.

Developing a modern and synchronous network of hydrometeorological stations

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Decision No. 289/QD-TTg approving the National Hydrometeorological Station Network Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

The general objective is to develop a national hydrometeorological station network that is gradually modern and synchronous, reaching a level equal to that of developed countries in Asia and the world; capable of integrating, interweaving, connecting, and sharing with the national resource and environmental monitoring network and the global hydrometeorological station network, specialized monitoring systems of sectors, meeting the needs of information and data, improving the quality of hydrometeorological forecasting and warning work, ensuring timeliness and reliability, serving socio-economic development, ensuring national defense, security, preventing and combating natural disasters and responding to climate change.

Holiday 4/30 - 5/1: Prime Minister agrees to 5 days off

In Official Dispatch No. 2450/VPCP-KGVX dated April 12, 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed with the proposal to swap working days on the occasion of the April 30 Victory Day and May 1 International Labor Day holidays in 2024 of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

Specifically, for civil servants and public employees, the working day Monday, April 29, will be swapped to Saturday, May 4. With this swap, civil servants and public employees will have 5 consecutive days off from Saturday, April 27 to Wednesday, May 1.
