Spending nearly 8 billion VND to buy tablets for poor students

On April 24, the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province announced that the province has just issued a decision approving the plan to purchase tablets for students in the area, under the program "Waves and computers for children".

Accordingly, tablets will be provided to high school and middle school students from poor households and a part of primary school students from poor households, from a budget of about 8 billion VND provided by the Ministry of Education and Training and local funds mobilized from organizations and individuals.

Implementation period from April 2023, at educational institutions in Quang Ngai province. The procurement will be carried out in the form of open bidding based on the provisions of the Bidding Law.

Quang Ngai Department of Education and Training distributed nearly 16,000 tablets to students across the province.

The Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai is responsible for completing all documents and purchasing procedures in accordance with regulations, economically and effectively; at the same time, guiding the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to implement the plan; directing affiliated educational institutions to select subjects; responsible for subjects, quantity and budget in the plan to allocate equipment under the program "Waves and computers for children".

Previously, implementing the program "Waves and computers for children", by the end of 2022, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai had purchased nearly 16,000 tablets, distributed to nearly 16,000 students in the province with a total amount of nearly 39 billion VND.

It is known that the total budget for implementing the program "Waves and computers for children" in Quang Ngai province is nearly 47 billion VND. Of which, the Ministry of Education and Training supports 45 billion VND, and more than 1.7 billion VND from calls and support from within and outside the industry.
