Foreign investment capital continuously increases
Hai Duong is a province located in the center of the Red River Delta, with a strategic location, convenient traffic connections, a population of more than 2 million people, converging many potentials, strengths and having enough conditions to meet the needs of investors.
To date, Hai Duong province has 627 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects from 27 countries and territories, with a total registered capital of more than 11 billion USD.
In the first 4 months of 2025 alone, Hai Duong province attracted 157.7 million USD in FDI, up 33.5% over the same period last year. Of which, there were 13 new FDI projects with a total investment capital of 62 million USD; 23 projects were adjusted with a total capital increase of 91.2 million USD; 6 projects contributed capital and purchased shares with a capital of 4.5 million USD. Previously, in 2024, Hai Duong attracted 816.88 million USD in FDI capital, ranking 15th nationwide in attracting foreign investment.
Aiming to attract FDI capital of 1 billion USD or more in 2025, Hai Duong has recently promoted and attracted large-scale, high-tech FDI projects, especially in the processing, manufacturing, electronics, semiconductor, artificial intelligence, and hydrogen industries.
Promote economic diplomacy
In May 2025, Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang had meetings with Mr. Ito Naoki, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam and Mr. Choi Youngsam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Korea to Vietnam.
At the meetings, the Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee informed about some socio -economic development results of Hai Duong province in recent years. At the same time, he affirmed that Hai Duong always creates favorable conditions and promptly resolves difficulties and obstacles arising for the business community, including Japanese and Korean enterprises, to operate and develop.
On an investment promotion trip to the United States in April 2025, the delegation of Hai Duong province led by Mr. Le Van Hieu - Chairman of the Provincial People's Council visited and worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in the United States.
At the meeting, Mr. Le Van Hieu hoped that the Vietnamese Embassy in the United States would continue to play the role of a bridge, supporting the introduction and connection of US investors and businesses to survey and explore investment cooperation opportunities in Hai Duong.
Previously, in February 2025, Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung received a delegation from Suwon City (Korea) led by First Deputy Mayor Kim Hyunsoo who visited and worked in Hai Duong. The leaders of Hai Duong province emphasized that Hai Duong is a province with many potentials, strengths and conditions for development.
Along with actively participating in programs to promote investment and expand export markets, Hai Duong also proactively organizes conferences and exchanges so that investors and businesses can grasp information and opportunities when investing in Hai Duong.
Focus on trade promotion
Vietnam has signed 17 Free Trade Agreements, including 9 new generation free trade agreements on commitments to export agricultural products, food... Vietnamese agricultural products in general, Hai Duong in particular, have been and are being exported to 27 countries in the European Union (EU) and many countries in the ASEAN region, Asia...
Hai Duong is also the first locality in the country to carry out many trade promotion events for agricultural products, especially lychees, on an international scale, with a wide scope in many countries and regions around the world.
Thanks to that, the value and brand of Thanh Ha litchi and Hai Duong agricultural products in the domestic and international markets have been enhanced. After major trade promotion conferences of the province, litchi and agricultural products have continuously developed export markets, especially exported to high-end markets such as: Japan, France, the United States, Australia, Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, etc.
With efforts in foreign affairs, Hai Duong has achieved many positive results, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province as well as the development of industries, localities and enterprises. From there, contributing to making Hai Duong an economic development pole of the new Hai Phong City after the merger.
