Gasoline prices are expected to drop this afternoon

If the above forecast is correct, gasoline prices will decrease for the second consecutive time this week. On July 1, gasoline prices began to be reduced by 2% VAT (to 8%). Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance adjusted the price of E5 RON92 gasoline down by VND101/liter compared to the previous period, not higher than VND20,530/liter; and reduced the price of RON95 gasoline by VND128/liter, not higher than VND21,116/liter.

Meanwhile, oil prices increased in the opposite direction. Specifically, diesel prices increased by VND193/liter compared to the previous period, not higher than VND19,349/liter. Kerosene prices increased by VND141/liter compared to the previous period, not higher than VND19,064/liter. However, fuel oil prices decreased by VND668/kg, not higher than VND16,955/kg.

Since the beginning of 2025, domestic gasoline prices have undergone 25 adjustment sessions, including 9 decrease sessions, 11 increase sessions and 5 opposite sessions.

Recorded on Oilprice at 5:30 a.m. on July 3 (Vietnam time), Brent oil price was at 68.72 USD/barrel, up 1.59 USD/barrel, WTI oil price was at 67.0 USD/barrel, up 1.59 USD/barrel.

Since June 25, Brent prices have fluctuated between $66.34 and $69.05 per barrel, as concerns about supply disruptions from the Middle East subsided after Iran and Israel reached a ceasefire.

Oil prices today were also supported by news that President Donald Trump confirmed that the US and Vietnam have reached a trade agreement.

However, the oil price rally was halted after the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced that domestic crude oil inventories unexpectedly increased by 3.8 million barrels last week, bringing total reserves to 419 million barrels.

Analysts polled by Reuters had expected a decline of 1.8 million barrels. At the same time, U.S. gasoline demand fell to 8.6 million barrels per day, raising concerns about consumption during the peak summer driving season.
