This activity is within the framework of the Project to overcome the consequences of natural disasters after storm No. 3 Yagi in 2024.
Attending the program were Ms. Deirdre Ní Fallúin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland to Vietnam, representatives of UNICEF and local authorities.
Through the Project, Thuong Giao Primary School was awarded a RO water filtration system and repaired toilet facilities. Along with that, many sanitation and clean water equipment were donated to households affected by natural disasters after storm No. 3 (Yagi) such as: 105 1,000-liter water tanks; 117 ceramic water filters and 168 personal hygiene kits.

More than 8 months ago, along with many other localities, Thuong Giao was severely affected by Typhoon No. 3 Yagi (the storm occurred in September 2024), causing infrastructure destruction, damaged houses, polluted water sources, and many difficulties for people's lives. Through the support of the Irish Government and UNICEF, the project has significantly improved sanitation conditions, ensuring clean water for schools and communities.

Representatives of the commune government and the school expressed their deep gratitude for this timely and meaningful support. From a place lacking water for daily use, students and teachers now have clean water for daily use, ensuring hygiene and health.
Not only stopping at material support, the project also focuses on communication work, raising awareness for students, teachers and people about using clean water, protecting the environment and proactively responding to natural disasters and climate change.

In Bac Kan province, the project to overcome the consequences of natural disasters after storm No. 3 (Yagi) was implemented in Cho Don and Ba Be districts. In addition to Thuong Giao Primary School, 11 other schools were installed with RO water filtration systems; 05 school sanitation facilities and medical stations were repaired. The project also distributed 420 water tanks, 448 ceramic filters and 672 personal hygiene kits, contributing to improving the community's resilience to the impacts of natural disasters and climate change.
