To proactively prevent and respond to the developments of storm Trami (Vietnamese name Tra Mi), the Thua Thien Hue Maritime Port Authority said it has just requested units and captains of ships to organize watchkeeping and closely monitor the developments of the storm to have timely response measures.

Port operators, shipbuilding and repair facilities, and investors in projects under construction must organize watchful and active shifts to closely monitor the storm's developments in order to respond promptly and ensure the safety of people, vehicles, and warehouse equipment.
Ships docking at the wharf need to coordinate with port enterprises to strengthen mooring lines to ensure safety and be ready to carry out the port authority's storm avoidance mobilization orders.
Previously, to proactively respond to natural disasters and search and rescue due to the impact of storm Trami, the Vietnam Maritime Administration issued a telegram requesting units to be ready to deploy the developed natural disasters and search and rescue plans and pay attention to protecting equipment, assets, and vehicles of their agencies and units.
Vietnam Maritime Electronic Information Company Limited was requested to direct coastal information stations to issue warnings about storm Trami at sea to inform vessels operating at sea of the location, direction of movement, developments, and circulation of the tropical depression so that they can proactively take shelter safely.
Maritime port authorities regularly monitor the development of storms to guide ships to avoid entering dangerous areas. In case ships leave ports, they are advised not to enter dangerous areas of natural disasters, especially for ships with level 3 restrictions, inland waterway vehicles with level VR-SB and ships serving construction works in water areas managed by maritime port authorities.
Particularly, maritime ports from Quang Ninh to Quy Nhon are required to organize a ship count, before 06:00 and 15:00 every day, report to the Vietnam Maritime Administration the number of ships anchored in the management area and other unexpected cases (if any).
The Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center directs regional Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centers to maintain forces and equipment to be ready to deploy search and rescue operations when requested.
