Proactively respond to possible storm and flood risks

On June 10, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 86/CD-TTg requesting ministries, branches and localities to proactively respond to tropical depressions that are likely to strengthen into storms and heavy rains causing flooding, flash floods and landslides.

The Prime Minister directed the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and cities to closely monitor the developments of tropical depressions, storms, floods and rains; deploy responses according to specific situations, focusing on ensuring safety for ships and vehicles at sea; evacuate people in areas at high risk of landslides, flash floods and deep flooding to safe places; ensure safety for key works, industrial parks, urban areas and densely populated areas.

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to monitor, forecast, and provide full and timely information to relevant agencies; urge localities to deploy response, as well as ensure the safety of dykes, irrigation reservoirs, agricultural production activities, etc. At the same time, request functional units to ensure safe and smooth traffic in flood-affected areas, promptly overcome incidents; deploy timely and effective response, search and rescue...
