On the afternoon of April 21, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son - Head of the National Steering Committee against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods (National Steering Committee 389) chaired a direct meeting with the Steering Committee 389 of ministries, branches and online with localities on the work of the first quarter of 2025 and tasks in the coming time. In the first quarter, functional forces nationwide actively and proactively carried out professional measures, promptly detected, arrested and strictly handled violations of the law related to smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, and illegal transportation of goods across the border. Accordingly, the whole country arrested and handled 30,651 violations (down 0.77% compared to the same period last year); collected more than 4,616 billion VND for the state budget; prosecuted 1,328 cases with 2,046 subjects...

In Khanh Hoa, the authorities inspected and detected 356 violations (a decrease of 23 cases compared to the same period last year). Of these, 17 were cases of trading and transporting prohibited and smuggled goods; 317 were cases of trade fraud and tax fraud; 22 were cases of counterfeit and other goods; more than 147 billion VND was collected for the state budget; 6 cases were prosecuted with 6 subjects.

Concluding the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son directed the Steering Committee 389 of ministries, branches and localities to proactively develop plans and solutions to combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in accordance with the local situation and task requirements; especially focusing on effectively combating and preventing the illegal trading and transportation of drugs, smuggling, illegal transportation of gold, foreign currency, and counterfeit goods of Vietnamese origin for export to other countries. The Steering Committee 389 of ministries, branches, provinces and cities reviewed and consolidated the steering committee; closely followed and effectively implemented the directions of the Government, the Prime Minister and the National Steering Committee 389.

Relevant units should strengthen education for cadres and civil servants to improve their professional qualifications, skills, awareness, and political ideology; not assist, protect, or cover up smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods; promptly commend and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods...
