Host Hai Phong won double championship at the 2025 National Boat Racing Championship

After 12 days of exciting competition, on November 6, at the Rowing Training Area (Bach Dang Ward), the National U19, U23 Rowing Championship and the 2025 National Canoeing Championship Cup for Strong Teams officially ended, marking a brilliant success season for Hai Phong sports .

467 athletes from 22 provinces and cities across the country participated in the tournament.

This year’s tournament was organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong in collaboration with the Vietnam Rowing Federation, attracting 467 athletes from 22 provinces and cities across the country. The athletes brought fierce competitions, demonstrated the spirit of honest and noble sportsmanship and contributed many attractive performances.

Hai Phong rowing team is affirming its strong central position in the Vietnamese rowing movement.

At the National U19 and U23 Rowing Championship, athletes competed in 29 sets of medals in two age groups U19 and U23, with men's, women's and mixed-gender events over a distance of 2,000m. At the end of the tournament, the Hai Phong team excellently won 8 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal, ranking first overall. Ho Chi Minh City won second place overall with 6 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 5 bronze medals; Hanoi ranked third overall with 5 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 5 bronze medals.

Hai Phong rowing team closes impressive 2025 season

At the 2025 National Canoeing Championship Cup, athletes competed for 46 sets of medals for men's, women's and mixed events in the 1,000m, 500m and 200m distances for Canoe and Kayak. At this tournament, the Hai Phong canoe racing team continued to affirm its position as the host when winning 14 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 4 bronze medals, topping the overall rankings. Ho Chi Minh City won second place with 13 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 18 bronze medals; while Quang Ninh ranked third overall with 7 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 12 bronze medals.

With the top results in both tournaments, the Hai Phong rowing team concluded the 2025 season impressively, affirming its strong central position in the Vietnamese rowing movement. This year's tournament not only creates a vibrant sporting atmosphere but is also an opportunity to discover, select and nurture potential athletes, supplementing the national team, aiming for regional and international tournaments in the coming time.
