On the evening of November 6, Mr. Nguyen Viet Thanh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Sa Huynh Ward ( Quang Ngai ) said that at around 8:00 p.m. the same day, the impact of storm Kalmaegi made landfall, large waves rolled over the embankment of Thach By 1, seawater rushed into Con hamlet, causing 110 houses to be flooded up to 1.5 meters deep.

Receiving the information, local authorities mobilized dozens of police officers, soldiers and militia forces to urgently arrive at the scene, evacuating people to safe storm shelters.
“Many elderly people and children were carried by militia and police to safe shelters,” Mr. Thanh said.

Earlier, from the morning of the same day, the People's Committee of Sa Huynh Ward had organized the evacuation of more than 600 households with about 3,000 people living along the coast to a safe place. By 2:00 p.m., the evacuation was basically completed. The ward authorities had prepared enough food, drinking water, and medicine for people to feel secure during the storm.
Also in Sa Huynh ward, storm Kalmaegi swept through the area, causing many trees in Chau Me and Long Thanh 1 residential groups to be uprooted, blocking the road. Police, military and civil defense forces were on duty all night, sawing and clearing fallen trees to avoid the risk of touching power lines and ensuring smooth traffic.

“We prioritize opening roads to promptly respond to emergencies,” said Chairman of Sa Huynh Ward People's Committee Nguyen Viet Thanh.
Not only Sa Huynh, other areas of Quang Ngai were also affected by the storm's circulation. On Le Loi Street (Nghia Lo Ward), people recorded a number of large trees being uprooted and falling, blocking part of the road.
Meanwhile, at around 6:30 p.m. the same day (November 6), the leaders of Ba Vi commune received a report from the Ta Noat village chief about signs of cracks appearing on Wang Voi mountain, threatening a dangerous landslide for 23 households with more than 50 people at the foot of the mountain. Immediately after that, the local shock force organized an emergency evacuation of all households to a safe place.

“Currently, due to heavy rain and strong winds, it is not possible to specifically survey the condition of this crack. However, to ensure safety, the evacuation of people must be prioritized. Currently, all households living in the affected area have been evacuated. Tomorrow, the commune will check and provide accurate information on this issue,” said Mr. Thanh Minh Thuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Vi commune.
In Tho Phong commune, the commune police force also promptly took an unconscious woman to the emergency room in the middle of the storm. Because the ambulance could not reach, the police officers had to cut down trees, clear the road and use a specialized vehicle to safely take the patient to Phuc Hung Hospital.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Hong Thai - Head of Tho Phong Commune Police said that during storms, moving and rescuing people is many times more difficult, but the commune police force is always ready to support people in all emergency situations, ensuring safety of life and order in the area.
According to the Quang Ngai Province Hydrometeorological Station, the Quang Ngai - Ly Son sea area on the night of November 6 had strong winds of level 8-9, near the storm center of level 10-12, gusts of level 14, waves of 5-7m high, and rough seas. It is forecasted that from the early morning of November 7, the wind and waves will gradually decrease as storm Kalmaegi moves out of the area.
