Warmly welcoming National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Shik and the high-ranking delegation of the Korean National Assembly on their official visit to Vietnam, President Luong Cuong assessed the visit as having important significance, adding new momentum to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries to develop more substantially and effectively in the coming time; affirming that the two countries have truly become each other's top important partners.
National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Shik expressed his pleasure to visit Vietnam again; conveyed the warm regards of President Lee Jae Myung of the Republic of Korea to President Luong Cuong; sincerely thanked President Luong Cuong for attending the APEC Summit in Gyeongju, the Republic of Korea, contributing to the overall success of the summit; and said that the Republic of Korea will actively share experiences and closely coordinate with the Vietnamese side to successfully organize the APEC Summit 2027 in Vietnam.
Emphasizing that the relationship between Korea and Vietnam is a special and inseparable relationship, National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Shik said that Korea wishes to promote and further deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam, and is ready to accompany Vietnam on the journey to realize the goal of becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045.
At the meeting, the two leaders expressed their delight at the important achievements of the two countries in many fields since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992; agreed to continue strengthening political trust to create a solid foundation to promote other areas of cooperation between the two countries; and concretize the commitments and agreements reached during recent visits by high-ranking leaders of the two countries.
Appreciating the results of the talks between National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Chairman of the National Assembly Woo Won Shik, President Luong Cuong hoped that the legislative bodies of the two countries would closely coordinate to create a legal corridor and implement the content of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; and support the agreements and commitments of the two countries' governments.
President Luong Cuong said that the potential and strengths of cooperation between the two countries are enormous; the two sides need to continue to strengthen political trust; increase exchanges of high-level delegations, ministries, localities and businesses of the two countries; promote cooperation in defense, security, and transnational crime prevention; strengthen cooperation in education, culture and people-to-people exchange to create deeper connections and understanding between the people of the two countries.
National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Shik expressed his high agreement with the proposals of President Luong Cuong; hoped that Vietnam would continue to support and remove difficulties for Korean enterprises and create favorable conditions for the Korean business community to feel secure in long-term investment in Vietnam; and said that he would coordinate with the Vietnamese legislative body to support the two countries' governments to promote bilateral cooperation in various fields, in line with the interests of the two peoples.
On this occasion, President Luong Cuong expressed his thanks and wished that the Korean side would always pay attention to and support the Vietnamese community in Korea to integrate, live, study and work stably and long-term in Korea; and said that the Vietnamese side will also create all favorable conditions for the Korean community in Vietnam.
The two leaders agreed to continue close cooperation and mutual support at regional and international forums of mutual concern; and to make efforts to promote the lasting peace process on the Korean Peninsula.
