President Luong Cuong: "Arranging educational facilities to reach international standards"

(Dan Tri) - According to President Luong Cuong, the reorganization of vocational training institutions must ensure streamlining, efficiency, meeting national standards and reaching international standards.

At the celebration of Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20 and the 8th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the education sector, President Luong Cuong suggested that the Ministry of Education and Training needs to modernize vocational education, create a breakthrough in developing human resources with high vocational skills.

In particular, the arrangement and reorganization of vocational training institutions must ensure streamlining, efficiency, meeting national standards and reaching international standards.

Also according to President Luong Cuong, over the past 80 years, from the popular education movement to classrooms amidst enemy bombs, from blackboards and chalk to today's technological lecture halls, there has always been a flame of dedication, sacrifice, and passion for the profession of generations of teachers.

Thanks to the dedication, resilience and creativity of the teaching staff, we have contributed to making great strides in the country's education, creating great achievements of historical significance so that our country can have the foundation, potential, position and international prestige as it is today.

“We will forever remember, respect and be grateful for the contributions of veteran teachers and “warrior” teachers who heroically sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the country; generations of teachers across the country have always devoted their whole lives and sacrificed their blood and bones for the cause of national education,” the President emphasized.

Expressing deep gratitude to teachers on November 20, the President also requested the education sector to carry out a number of tasks.

Firstly , continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines, policies, viewpoints, and Uncle Ho's thoughts on education and training. Timely remove bottlenecks and bottlenecks in institutions, mechanisms, and policies; promote innovation and create development in education and training.

Promote decentralization and delegation of power in conjunction with resource allocation, enhance autonomy and self-responsibility of educational institutions in conjunction with effective inspection and supervision. Build an open and interconnected educational system, promote lifelong learning and build a learning society.

Second, effectively implement the Law on Teachers, build appropriate policies to mobilize talented people outside the teaching force to participate in teaching and training in educational institutions. Persistently build school culture, quality culture, practical learning, practical work associated with the responsibility of setting an example for the teaching staff.

Third, strengthen comprehensive education in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, and aesthetics, forming a system of values ​​for Vietnamese people in the new era, in which the most important is moral education. Cultivating people must start with personality, then come to education in knowledge and skills.

Fourth, promote comprehensive digital transformation, popularize and strongly apply digital technology and artificial intelligence in education and training; develop the national education and human resources information system, connect with the labor market and employment information system and integrate scientific, technological and innovation information of educational institutions.

Fifth, modernize vocational education, create breakthroughs in developing highly skilled human resources; rearrange and reorganize vocational education institutions to ensure they are streamlined, efficient, meet national standards and reach international standards.

Sixth, modernize and improve higher education. Implement the arrangement and restructuring of higher education institutions; merge and dissolve substandard higher education institutions; resolutely eliminate intermediate levels, ensuring streamlined, unified and effective administration.

Invest in modernizing technical infrastructure, expanding development space for universities to operate effectively; strongly innovate training programs according to international standards; link training activities with research, scientific and technological development, innovation, and national digital transformation.

Seventh, continue to promote cooperation and deep international integration in education and training. Promote negotiations and signing of agreements and treaties on cooperation in education, training, science and technology; proactively participate in organizations to ensure quality and develop international education.

Finally, the President requested the education sector to continue effectively implementing the resolutions, contributing to further improving the quality and effectiveness of education and training, striving to achieve the goal of Vietnam having a modern, equitable and high-quality national education system, ranking among the top 20 countries in the world by 2045.

According to the President, we are proud of the great achievements that Vietnam's education has made, but we must also be frank and correctly acknowledge the difficulties and limitations in order to continue to grow stronger.

“Innovation and improvement of education quality is an urgent requirement, of special importance in the strategic vision of national development, requiring perseverance and determination “For the hundred-year cause of cultivating people”, the President directed.
