National Assembly Chairman successfully concludes official visit to Singapore and Japan

During his official visit to the Republic of Singapore, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man had meetings and talks with all of Singapore's top leaders such as President Tharman Shanmugaratnam; Speaker of the National Assembly Seah Kian Peng, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, and received leading Singaporean corporations investing and doing business in Vietnam.

At the talks with Singaporean Parliament Speaker Seah Kian Peng, the two leaders affirmed that economic and trade cooperation continues to be an important pillar in bilateral relations; agreed to create a favorable legal corridor and step up the supervision of ministries, branches, localities and enterprises in implementing signed Agreements and Agreements, especially in new growth areas such as green economy, digital economy, clean energy, cyber security, innovation... as well as other key areas of the Framework Agreement on Connecting the Two Economies.

To promote substantive cooperation between the two National Assemblies, the two leaders agreed that it is necessary to continue to effectively implement the Cooperation Agreement between the two National Assemblies, contributing to further developing the Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Partnership and soon raising it to a new height; enhancing information exchange and sharing each country's experiences in perfecting institutions, policies, and legal systems, ensuring macroeconomic stability, expanding foreign relations, and improving the effectiveness of international integration; implementing cooperation activities between the National Assembly's Committees and agencies, between parliamentarians of the two countries, including young parliamentarians and female parliamentarians, etc.

With a busy schedule of more than 30 activities in Japan, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man had meetings and talks with all of Japan's top leaders. The National Assembly Chairman met with the King and Queen; held talks with Speaker of the Japanese House of Representatives Nukaga Fukushiro; President of the Japanese Senate Sekiguchi Masakazu; met with Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru; met and discussed with Japanese enterprises investing in Vietnam; visited and worked in Nagasaki province.

At these meetings, the two sides discussed and agreed on many important contents to promote bilateral cooperation in all channels and fields; especially the direction of promoting economic, trade, investment, cultural and people-to-people cooperation. The two sides focused on and considered local cooperation between the two countries as an important, practical and effective cooperation channel to strengthen economic, trade and labor cooperation and promote people-to-people exchange between the two countries.

During the meetings, the two sides exchanged many practical and effective contents. The two sides set out major orientations for bilateral relations since the two countries upgraded the framework of relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World in November 2023.

All senior leaders of Japan highly appreciated the visit of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife and the high-ranking delegation of the National Assembly of Vietnam; especially the two sides signed a Cooperation Agreement between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the House of Councilors of Japan. This is the first time the National Assembly of Japan has signed a cooperation agreement with a foreign country.

It can be affirmed that the official visit to the Republic of Singapore and Japan by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife along with the high-ranking delegation of our country ended very successfully. The visit continued to promote cooperation in the fields with the two countries; specifically identified the content of cooperation and exchange with the two countries in the coming time; especially in the legislative field, it will help Vietnam carry out one of the three strategic breakthroughs, which is to build institutions to create more favorable conditions for Vietnam to develop in the new era, the era of national development.
