Promoting Vietnam - Indonesia to ratify EEZ delimitation agreement
According to the National Assembly Office, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated Ambassador Denny Abdi's contributions to promoting the Vietnam - Indonesia Strategic Partnership in general and parliamentary relations between the two countries in particular.
Sharing about his three years as Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam, Ambassador Denny Abdi expressed his impression of Vietnam's achievements in preventing and fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and recovering and developing the economy .
He said he has received many questions from Indonesia asking how Vietnam has overcome the pandemic and still grown like that, what is Vietnam's secret? And the answer is always: Vietnam is a country with good plans, very good vision and is very hard-working and making efforts to realize its plans and vision.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue reiterated that, within the framework of the State visit of the President of Vietnam to Indonesia in 2022, the two countries have completed negotiations on the delimitation of the exclusive economic zone (EEZ); he suggested that both sides soon urge their respective legislative bodies to consider ratifying and implementing this important agreement.
Ambassador Denny Abdi said that this is the most convincing proof that countries can completely resolve disputes by peaceful means, on the basis of international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the Indonesian Ambassador both said that Vietnam and Indonesia are facing global challenges and are undertaking two very important transitions: equitable energy transition and digital transformation. Therefore, the two countries must cooperate closely in implementing these transitions.
Emphasizing the competitive advantage of both countries is the young population structure, Ambassador Denny Abdi hopes that the National Assembly Chairman will promote cooperation in research and education between the two countries.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to visit Iran
Also according to the National Assembly Office, receiving Iranian Ambassador to Vietnam Ali Akbar Nazari, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue affirmed that Vietnam wishes to promote comprehensive relations with Iran through all channels of the Party, Government, National Assembly, and people-to-people exchanges; and learn from and share experiences with Iran in the cause of national construction and defense.
Ambassador Ali Akbar Nazari affirmed that Iran always values its relationship with Vietnam and always considers Vietnam a close and trustworthy friend.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stated that at present and in the future, Vietnam and Iran have great potential for long-term cooperation based on the friendship of the past half century.
Economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries still have some difficulties and obstacles due to payment, but citing the Vietnamese saying "in difficulty, invention emerges", the National Assembly Chairman believes that the two countries can find ways to overcome all difficulties.
Vietnam always listens to recommendations and proposals and is ready to discuss to promote political and diplomatic relations, defense and security cooperation, economics, trade, investment, energy, people-to-people exchange, etc. between the two countries.

Emphasizing that 2023 is an important year for the relationship between the two countries, marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, Ambassador Ali Akbar Nazari said that the two sides will organize many commemorative events, including high-level visits between the two countries. Of which, the upcoming visit of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to Iran is the most important activity, and he believes that the visit will be a turning point, marking a new milestone in the development of the relationship between the two countries.
Ambassador Ali Akbar Nazari shared that Iran is a friendly and hospitable country and always has a positive view and good feelings towards Vietnamese leaders and people.
Appreciating the National Assembly Chairman's comments on the bilateral relationship, the Ambassador also said that Vietnam and Iran have many similarities to enhance cooperation, especially in the fields of energy, industry, agriculture, etc.; at the same time, he hoped that the two countries would make efforts to exploit the cooperation potential to bring benefits to the people of both countries.
