
According to an official report from the Khanh Hoa Province Irrigation Department, large reservoirs in the province have reached capacity from 56% to 98%, and many reservoirs are releasing water to control water levels.
Reservoirs with a capacity of over 10 million m3 have a water storage capacity ratio of 56% to 98%. Reservoirs with large capacities such as Da Ban (98.5%), Suoi Dau (82.2%), Song Cai (86.6%), Song Sat (91.9%), Song Trau (82.4%) are maintaining stable regulation activities. Reservoirs with a capacity of 1 to 10 million m3 have a water storage capacity ratio of 72% to 100%.
Reservoirs are operating with regulated discharge with strictly controlled flow, including: Cai River (86.6% capacity) discharging 567.39 m3/s; Da Ban (98.5% capacity) discharging 186.5 m3/s; Sat River (91.9% capacity) discharging 166.64 m3/s; and EakrongRou Hydropower Plant (94.6% capacity) discharging 50 m3/s,...
Regarding the information spread in the past two days about dam breaks at Suoi Dau, Ta Ruc, and Suoi Hanh reservoirs, representatives of the reservoir management and operation units have confirmed that all structures are safe and there has been no dam break incident. Only one dam on Suoi Dau River (about 6km from the main dam of Suoi Dau Lake) has collapsed, but this is not the dam of the reservoir.
Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong asked people not to spread false information, to trust the management of functional agencies and to follow flood and storm prevention instructions of local authorities.
