Ho Chi Minh City mobilizes all resources to support Khanh Hoa province in overcoming flood consequences

Ho Chi Minh City has deployed many forces and resources to support Khanh Hoa after the floods, including relief funds, essential goods and medical staff directly involved in taking care of people. These activities aim to help the locality overcome difficulties and stabilize soon.

On the afternoon of November 22, at the headquarters of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, the Ho Chi Minh City delegation, led by Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Ho Chi Minh City, had a working session with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province and related departments, branches and units on overcoming damage caused by floods.

At the meeting, the two localities discussed and agreed on many plans to coordinate resources to urgently support people in flood-hit areas and minimize damage. Representatives of Ho Chi Minh City presented 50 billion VND in support to help Khanh Hoa province stabilize its life and recover from the natural disaster.

Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc deeply sympathized with the great losses that Khanh Hoa people are facing, and affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City is focusing all its efforts, wholeheartedly, wholeheartedly, and unanimously to support the locality in responding to and overcoming the consequences of floods.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, the urgent task now is to provide emergency relief to people in flooded areas, with the spirit of protecting people's lives first and foremost; at the same time, ensuring that people do not go hungry or lack clothing during the prolonged rainy and flooded days. The city will mobilize essential goods to the maximum and coordinate with local forces to access the areas that are still isolated.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City also mobilized drones to transport food, water and necessities to isolated areas, ensuring relief effectiveness and safety for participating forces.

In addition to the VND50 billion support, the City has sent a team of 50 doctors to Khanh Hoa, divided into 5 locations in flood-avoidance areas to examine, treat, care for people's health and deploy disease prevention measures after natural disasters. The doctors will be on duty continuously, ready to respond in all situations.

In parallel, the City's relief team is preparing 50,000 essential gift bags, including drinking water, food, clothes, blankets, etc. and 10,000 family medicine bags to support people to overcome the difficult period. The City will also deploy a field kitchen, providing about 12,000 free meals per day for people in flood-affected areas and task forces.

In addition to emergency relief, Ho Chi Minh City will coordinate with forces of Khanh Hoa province to repair damaged infrastructure such as schools, medical stations, bridges, roads, residential areas; treat polluted water; and coordinate with the telecommunications industry to quickly restore broadcasting stations and maintain uninterrupted communication.

Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc emphasized that all support activities of the City are implemented according to the principle of being close to reality, with focus and key points, based on surveys of actual needs; avoiding duplication and dispersion of resources; ensuring the highest efficiency for people in flood-affected areas.
