Amidst the torrential rain and floods in the eastern part of Dak Lak , armed forces have been deployed to set up posts and stick to the deeply flooded areas to rescue and supply people in the flooded areas. Relief teams from many places have gathered, despite the rain and wind, rushing into the "flood centers" to provide relief.

To deliver food to people as quickly as possible, the military has set up a series of field kitchens to support people in flooded areas. From Song Hinh, Duc Binh, Tay Hoa, Hoa Thinh, Hoa My, Phu Hoa 1, Phu Hoa 2, Tuy Hoa, Dong Hoa, Hoa Hiep, Hoa Xuan, Dong Xuan, Tuy An Tay... a series of field kitchens are constantly on fire, racing against time to cook thousands of hot meals to quickly send to people in flooded areas.

In Phu Hoa 1 commune, on November 22, many areas were still deeply flooded. In the Phu Hoa 1 Kindergarten campus, officers and soldiers of Regiment 584 (Dak Lak Provincial Military Command) maintained a field kitchen to supply isolated areas. The atmosphere was urgent; soldiers and teachers shared each task. Every day, more than 100 meals were completed and immediately delivered to the flooded areas.

The Regiment brought food and quickly purchased it from around the area. While stirring a large pot of soup, Corporal Y Ja Nie (Battalion 303, Regiment 584) said: "Only when you get there can you see how hard life is for the people. We, who are used to the training ground, now have to use ladles to cook rice, just hoping to do it as quickly as possible so we can send it to each house."

Every day, soldiers and teachers at Phu Hoa 1 Kindergarten deliver hundreds of hot meals to flood-affected areas.

Major Nguyen Duy Khoa, Deputy Chief of Staff of Regiment 584, said the unit is concentrating troops in Phu Hoa 1 and Tay Hoa. “As the water recedes, soldiers will clean up schools, public facilities, and houses. We are trying to ensure that people have full meals and their houses are clean of mud after the flood.”

At the same time, the kitchen in Tuy Hoa ward was also working at full capacity. Here, Major Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh (PTKV 6 CH Board - Tuy Hoa) and female soldiers were responsible for processing and packaging hundreds of lunch boxes every day. "During storms and floods, a piece of food when hungry is worth a package when full. We prioritize the quality and speed of completing each meal," said Ms. Hoang Anh.

Once the rice was cooked, the more difficult task began. Soldiers used boats and canoes to cross heavily flooded areas, becoming “special shippers”, bringing warmth and relief goods to each household, and being ready to respond to emergencies.

By the afternoon of November 22, the eastern part of Dak Lak province had 9 field kitchens, of which 7 operated under the “military-civilian combination” model, both ensuring logistics for the force and providing hot meals for the people. This kitchen system was spread out at the most convenient points to access the flooded areas.

In particular, the Tuy Hoa direction has been reinforced with a specialized field kitchen vehicle of the 655th Transport Brigade (Logistics and Engineering Department of Military Region 5). With large capacity and high mobility, the "foster" force is expected to provide more hot meals, ensuring the health of the force and people in the flooded areas.

Efforts to open supply routes into flooded areas

Phuoc Loc and Phuoc Giang villages (Hoa Tam commune) are still deeply flooded and isolated. In Phuoc Giang village, more than 100 households with over 600 people have been isolated for 3 days, lacking food and medicine.

From the night of November 21, Colonel Do Xuan Hung, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 5, was present at the scene to command forces to open roads to access heavily flooded areas and rescue people. Despite heavy rain and strong currents, rescue teams coordinated with local authorities to find a safe way to bring relief goods to the village.

By noon on November 22, the troops had transported three shipments of instant noodles, dry food, drinking water, and medicine to the isolated area, and also provided medical examinations and medicine to the people. Currently, Military Region 5 continues to expand access routes, replenish supplies, and is ready to evacuate people if the flood situation continues to worsen.
