Delegates present papers at the conference "Research, Teaching, and Application of Mathematics".
Over three days (July 15-17), Nguyen Tat Thanh University and Dong Thap University organized the international conference "Research, Teaching, and Application of Mathematics". This was a major forum for mathematicians in particular and scientists working in the fields of research, teaching, and application of mathematics, especially the application of mathematics to economics and society.
At the conference, scientists from many countries around the world shared their research, exchanged ideas, and discussed future research directions and projects.
Associate Professor Dr. Le Anh Vu, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Science Journal, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, representing the organizing committee, stated that 47 papers were submitted by scientists to the conference, mainly focusing on three areas: pure mathematics; statistical and probability problems and important applications; and mathematics teaching at both high school and university levels.
Mr. Vu believes that mathematics has never penetrated so deeply into practice as it does today. Many studies relate to coding theory, graph theory, and especially the application of mathematics in machine learning and deep learning (artificial intelligence).
This conference on "Research, Teaching, and Application of Mathematics" features the participation and keynote presentation at the opening session by Professor Ngo Viet Trung, former President of the Vietnam Mathematical Society (2018-2023), former Director of the Vietnam Institute of Mathematics (2006-2013), a renowned mathematician in Vietnam and worldwide , and recipient of the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the Ta Quang Buu Prize – two of the most prestigious awards for Vietnamese scientists.
In addition, the event was attended by experts and scientists including: Professor Jongil Park, current President of the Korean Mathematical Society; Professor Jong Hea Keum, former President of the Korean Mathematical Society; and Professor Sijong Kwak, Dean of the School of Natural Sciences, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
