Final round of the “Future Banker 2023” competition

On the afternoon of May 23, within the framework of the Financial Education Communication Event Series "Future Banker 2023", the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) in coordination with the Banking Academy organized the Final round of the "Future Banker 2023" competition.

The final round will take place after the preliminary rounds (May 10, 2023), orientation day (May 14, 2023) and semi-finals (May 17, 2023), on May 23, 2023.

The “Future Banker 2023” competition attracted nearly 200 teams from universities and colleges in the Northern region, demonstrating the widespread influence of the competition among young people. The 4 best teams passed the intense rounds to participate in the final program.

This is a knowledge playground that helps young people accumulate knowledge about banking and finance as well as confidence and boldness to conquer challenges. In particular, the contest uses creative, attractive and suitable theatrical forms for young people, combined with folk games, folk songs, proverbs, famous quotes... to convey information about banking and finance in a lively, familiar, easy-to-understand and widely spread way.

Speaking at the Final Round, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Kim Anh highly appreciated the initiative of the Communications Department - State Bank of Vietnam and the coordinated efforts of the Banking Academy in organizing the "Future Banker 2023" competition event series. This is the largest event series ever on financial education communication for students and young people. This year's competition event series is not only for banking students but also many students from other universities and many different fields.

“I appreciate the students from many universities who participated in this event. Through the competition, students not only receive practical knowledge for life, but also employers have the opportunity to find potential candidates for their team. In fact, when recruiting personnel for the banking system, managers not only recruit students from schools with Banking and Finance majors, but also from many other majors such as Law, Business Administration, Journalism, Information Technology, Foreign Trade, Diplomacy, Foreign Languages, Economics, Information Technology, Social Sciences and Humanities …”, the Deputy Governor emphasized.

With the goal of innovation, in addition to practical issues related to people such as instructions on non-cash payment skills, knowledge and regulations on savings and loans, the content of this year's contest program also mentions knowledge about investment products such as insurance, bonds, stocks, deposit certificates... which have been of great interest to the public in recent times.

In a general assessment of the Financial Education Communication Event Series "Future Bankers 2023" this year, Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh commented that the programs were organized creatively and richly with many practical and meaningful activities for students such as: the Future Bankers 2023 contest, the exhibition booth "GenZ Bank" with the participation of about 30 credit institutions (including commercial banks, financial companies, payment intermediaries, securities companies...), the talk show "GenZ startups in the digital age", shopping at the Student Supermarket; bookstore for students; implementing the social security donation program "Loving Sunday"; awarding scholarships to poor students who overcome difficulties...

The State Bank's leaders also acknowledged the active and responsible participation of credit institutions and related units in organizing this series of events as well as in promoting financial education and communication activities, contributing to the implementation of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy and the Government's directives on non-cash payments, and pushing back black credit./.
