Program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen"

On June 8 and 9, in Thinh Long town (Hai Hau), the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission to organize the program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen". Attending the program were: Major General Tran Van Tho, Commander of Coast Guard Region 1; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee: Tran Anh Dung, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Minh Thang, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and Hai Hau district.

Comrade Tran Anh Dung, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 and leaders of the province and Hai Hau district presented gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mother Bui Thi Chat, 102 years old, Hamlet 3, Hai An Commune (Hai Hau).

At the program, the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 disseminated the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard, the sovereignty and security of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; the functions and tasks of the Coast Guard force in general, the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 in particular in performing the task of enforcing the law at sea and protecting the sovereignty and security of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; disseminated the Law on Prevention of Harmful Effects of Drugs to the community; and at the same time, mobilized fishermen to actively prevent and combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Dung and the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 and the Provincial Border Guard Command presented bicycles to poor students who have overcome difficulties.

On this occasion, the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 visited and presented 100 gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families with meritorious services, religious people, and fishermen in difficult circumstances in Hai Hau district; presented 1,000 national flags to fishermen. In addition, the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 also organized the contest "I love my homeland's sea and islands" with the participation of students from secondary schools: Thinh Long Town, Hai Hoa, Hai Ly, and presented 30 bicycles and 30 gifts to students in difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties to study well.

Comrade Tran Minh Thang, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission and leaders of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command presented gifts to policy beneficiary families, religious people, and fishermen in difficult circumstances in Hai Hau district.

Through the program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen", it has contributed to raising awareness and responsibility of cadres, party members, people, especially fishermen about the situation of sea and islands; propagating and mobilizing fishermen to comply with legal regulations when going offshore; organizing social security activities, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty and security of the province's maritime borders./.
