After more than 3 months of implementation, the Hai Lang Regional Program has actively coordinated with relevant agencies and units to invest in upgrading and building 5 new irrigation canal systems with a total length of nearly 1 km and 1 electric pumping station in some rice fields in 3 communes: Hai Truong, Hai Dinh and Hai Hung.
These projects have contributed to ensuring proactive irrigation water sources for more than 272 hectares of rice cultivation land, reducing dredging and clearing costs and annual contributions to the people. In particular, they have created conditions for the development of high-quality rice models, VietGAP, organic rice, etc.
Not only stopping at technical or economic factors, the project also creates sustainable social impacts, improves the management capacity of the Village Development Board and the Commune Project Management Board, promotes the spirit of community participation, contributes to completing the targets of the advanced new rural development program and sustainable poverty reduction. Thereby, the project also contributes to improving child welfare and building a safe community, proactively adapting to natural disasters and climate change.
