Xuan Thuong farmers develop economy associated with building model new rural areas

The Commune Farmers' Association has promoted the role of farmers as the main subject, closely following the criteria for building advanced and exemplary new rural areas, concretizing them into action programs, selecting tasks that are suitable to the functions, tasks and actual operations of each branch. Propaganda work has always been of interest to all levels of the Association in the commune, considering it a top priority. Through conferences and branch activities, the Commune Farmers' Association has disseminated to all cadres and farmer members the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, the political tasks, the socio-economic development of the locality, the purpose and significance of the program for building advanced and exemplary new rural areas; mobilizing farmer members to compete and join hands to build new rural areas through practical activities with the motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise, people benefit". Over the past years, the Association at all levels from commune to branch has organized 165 meetings with 7,275 participants, coordinated the writing of 15 news and radio articles with a total of 48 propaganda broadcasts on commune and hamlet loudspeakers, contributing to raising awareness and creating consensus among cadres and farmer members.

Identifying the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably" as the core movement of the Association, contributing to effectively implementing the criteria of production development, increasing income in building advanced and exemplary new rural areas, the Commune Farmers' Association always focuses on innovation and improving the quality of the movement. The movement has been gradually contributing to changing the thinking, thinking and working methods of farmers, shifting from small-scale and fragmented production methods to production in the direction of goods, linkages and joint ventures in chains. On average, each year, the whole commune has 590 farming households achieving the title of good production and business households at all levels. From the movement, many advanced examples have emerged. A typical example is the farm farming model of Mr. Nguyen Van Toan's household, branch 5 with 300 foreign sows, over 1,000 pigs, selling 300 tons each year, with an annual revenue of over 10 billion VND. Land accumulation model (over 20ha/model) produces in the direction of chain linkage like Mr. Pham Tien Dung's household, branch 2...

To encourage members to develop the economy , increase income, and enrich themselves legitimately, the Commune Farmers' Association also pays attention to supporting members with loans, science and technology, vocational training to create jobs, promote product consumption, and build collective economic models. The Commune Farmers' Association has guided the establishment of 1 cooperative group, 1 professional association; organized mushroom growing training for 32 farmer members; guided and completed the application for recognition of Luyen Phi turmeric starch products meeting 3-star OCOP quality standards. To help farmers consume agricultural products, the Commune Farmers' Association has mobilized Mr. Nguyen Van Toan's family to be the opening point of Toan Vui safe food introduction store. This is the first store in the district to be established under the guidance of the district Farmers' Association, specializing in introducing and providing OCOP products, agricultural products that ensure food hygiene and safety, have brands and clear origins, raised and grown by reputable cooperatives, cooperative groups and farmer members in the district, and are strictly controlled from production, processing to consumption.

In addition, the commune's Farmers' Association has mobilized cadres and members to participate in building advanced and model new rural areas through specific actions such as: voluntarily donating land, voluntarily dismantling construction works to widen village roads and alleys, actively contributing working days, supporting funds to build welfare works, contributing to completing the criteria for building model new rural residential areas, advanced and model new rural communes, making the appearance of the homeland increasingly prosperous. Typically, the alley of residential area of ​​​​chapter 7 with only 35 people voluntarily contributed over 350 million VND to build embankments, drainage systems, install lighting systems, make welcome gates... In recent years, cadres and members of the Farmers' Association in the whole commune have supported over 2,000 working days and over 3.5 billion VND to the national target program on building new rural areas. Along with that, the Association has actively mobilized cadres and farmer members to participate in activities to protect, preserve and beautify the environmental landscape. The branches actively registered to undertake specific tasks such as: cleaning the central area of ​​the village cultural house; regularly sweeping the village roads and alleys; accepting planting and caring for farmer trees; arranging household yards, renovating mixed gardens; collecting pesticide packaging in the fields. The commune Farmers' Association undertook a 250m long flower road and took care of trees nearly 900m long. The Association also coordinated with organizations to launch the "Green Living Branch" model, propagating and guiding cadres, members and people to classify and process organic waste into fertilizer. Up to now, over 98% of households in 9/9 branches have implemented the waste classification model well and over 1,200 households with gardens have treated waste with compost bins and pits, contributing to creating an increasingly green - clean - beautiful environment.

With the achieved results, the Farmers' Association of Xuan Thuong commune has promoted the role of the Association in implementing political tasks, socio-economic development, contributing to accelerating the progress of building an advanced and model new-style rural commune. In 2022, Xuan Thuong commune was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as meeting the model new-style rural standards. In the coming time, the Farmers' Association of the commune will continue to promote propaganda work, strongly changing the awareness of cadres and farmer members about the role and tasks of Farmers' Associations at all levels in agricultural development, building advanced and model new-style rural areas. Innovating the content and methods of operation, well organizing the emulation movements of the Association in conjunction with implementing local tasks, focusing on the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably". Doing well in service activities, consulting, supporting farmers, helping members access preferential capital to develop production and business; Actively encourage members to produce organically, build specialized, high-quality commodity production areas, and ensure food hygiene and safety.
