The two sides discussed the current situation and potential of economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries in general and between Vietnam and the Castilla-la-Mancha region in particular, including enhancing the effective use of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) as well as coordinating the implementation of business promotion activities in the coming time.

Within the framework of the working trip, the Trade Office also introduced and discussed the coordination of organizing a delegation of business associations and businesses from the Castilla - la Mancha region to Vietnam to attend the event "Vietnam International Sourcing 2025" next September.

The Castilla - la Mancha region with a population of nearly 2.1 million people, GDP/capita of approximately 23 thousand euros/year, possesses many outstanding production and business potentials in areas such as: logistics services - a transit point between the capital Madrid and the port city of Valencia, agricultural products, food and beverages, aviation industry, renewable energy - solar power, environmental services and information technology, ...

During the period 2020 - 2024, trade between the Castilla - la Mancha region and Vietnam has increased steadily every year, specifically: from the import-export turnover in 2020 of 67.54 million Euros, it reached 189.57 million Euros in 2024. The average growth rate reached over 36%/year, although higher than the general growth rate of Spain with Vietnam, the current proportion is still modest, accounting for only about 2.13% of the total import-export turnover of Spain with Vietnam.
