On August 19, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism held a conference to deploy a stimulus plan to attract tourists to Ho Chi Minh City in 2025.
Travel voucher value converted up to 5 billion VND
According to Ms. Vo Ngoc Diep - Head of the Department of Tourism Accommodation Management, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism - from now until the end of 2025, the city has many incentive groups for tourists, including: health care incentives, incentives for culinary and accommodation partners...
"In the group of health care incentives, for the first time, there is a business joining the program. Tourists coming to Ho Chi Minh City will receive incentives for skin care, neck, shoulder, nape, massage treatments... As for cuisine, tourists receive incentives from Michelin-starred restaurants; the same goes for accommodation, from minimum to 3-star facilities, tourists have good incentives," Ms. Diep informed in general.
In addition, according to Ms. Diep, international visitors from the Philippines, Singapore, and Indonesia who fly round-trip to Ho Chi Minh City via Vietnam Airlines will receive a discount of about 15-20% on ticket prices, starting from September 9.
On this occasion, the representative of the tourism accommodation management department also informed that the value of the voucher (discount coupon) converted into cash is about 5 billion VND.
"The city is about to organize the Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair (ITE HCMC) and on this occasion, the tourism industry is organizing the first Maga Sale (a large and long-lasting discount event).
The program ends on December 31, 2025. Tourists who book tours to the city on December 31 will have a 2-month extension to experience the incentives from the content organized by the city," Ms. Diep added.
"Food passport" placed at Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal
At the conference, the Department of Tourism announced its cooperation with Traveloka Vietnam Company Limited to launch a campaign to promote Ho Chi Minh City destinations on a digital platform.
Specifically, the incentive package is worth more than 4 billion VND in e-vouchers for tourists when booking airline tickets and hotel rooms on this company's website.
Or Vietravel from now until the end of the year has a free working tour for tourists coming to Ho Chi Minh City, visiting all destinations in the tour product combination package.
This time, the department is promoting the city's unique culinary values through cooperation with Foody Joint Stock Company (the operator of ShopeeFood) to implement a "culinary passport".
This is a smart interactive tool, a bilingual publication in English and Vietnamese, helping tourists easily explore and "check-in" unique culinary journeys. The department informed that the "culinary passport" will first be placed at Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat airport, metro stations, and tourist attractions...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Department of Tourism, said that with the visa exemption policy and a series of national stimulus programs to attract visitors to the city from now until the end of 2025, the city is taking advantage of the opportunity by promoting the application of technology and digital transformation to create new and different experiences for tourists.
"The Department continues to coordinate with the business community and technology platforms to form a convenient and rich service ecosystem, making the journey to explore the city easier but still bearing its own mark," said Ms. Hoa.
Proposal to periodically organize food festivals for 12 countries that have just been granted visa exemption
According to Mr. Nguyen Ky Trung, General Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Culinary Association, the association's members include many restaurants and hotels operating in chains and achieving the Mechelin title. In the near future, the association will standardize restaurants and hotels to participate as destinations to join the city's tourism stimulus program.
"But I have a proposal that travel and tourism companies will coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Culinary Association to periodically, quarterly or monthly organize culinary festivals for the 12 countries that have just been exempted from visas, to attract traffic to Ho Chi Minh City," Mr. Trung proposed.
Regarding this, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Department of Tourism, said that the department has considered this and wants to connect and build a culinary chain associated with the association's theme.
Ms. Hoa said she plans to rotate tours at restaurants every month. Restaurants that are "strong" in a certain dish will have a culinary theme for that dish. Each restaurant will have a different culinary theme and will organize it periodically every month, not only until the end of this year but also for the next 5 years.
