According to the report of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism , the number of international visitors to Vietnam in October reached 1.73 million, an increase of 11.3% compared to September and 22.1% compared to the same period in 2024. In the first 10 months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed more than 17.16 million international visitors, an increase of 21.5% over the same period. These numbers not only reflect the attractiveness of Vietnam tourism, but are also the result of efforts to innovate products and promote the image of "Vietnam - a safe, friendly, attractive and unique destination".
Attraction from Asia to Europe
In October, the largest international tourist markets to Vietnam were still China, South Korea, Taiwan (China), the US, Japan, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia and the UK.
Notably, the number of visitors from many markets increased dramatically: Switzerland increased by 67%, Denmark increased by 66%, Thailand increased by 58%, the Czech Republic and France both increased by 56%, China increased by 20%, and South Korea increased by 10%. This is a group of visitors with high spending levels and love experiential tourism - a factor that opens up new opportunities for the Vietnamese tourism industry to shift to a quality, sustainable segment.

International visitors increase sharply but domestic tourism continues to be a "solid support"
In contrast, some markets have temporarily stagnated, such as Japan (-22%), Malaysia (-19%), Laos (-19%), New Zealand (-10%). However, the Asian region still accounts for more than three-quarters of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam, continuing to be the main driver of tourism growth this year.
Airlines lead, cruise tourism returns
Of the more than 1.73 million international arrivals in October, 1.43 million traveled by air, demonstrating the key role of the aviation industry in connecting Vietnam with the world .
Notably, cruise tourism has had a spectacular recovery: 14,475 arrivals, more than 5 times higher than the previous month, showing the attraction of cruise routes to Ha Long Bay, Nha Trang or Phu Quoc to European and North Asian tourists.
The National Tourism Administration believes this is a good signal for Vietnam to be able to exploit more strongly the type of sea and cruise tourism, which is the natural strength of the country.
Domestic tourism maintains a stable pace, Vietnamese people still like to travel to live slowly
Not only international visitors, domestic tourism continues to be a "solid support". In October 2025, the country is expected to welcome 6 million visitors, of which 4 million will stay overnight.
In total, in the first 10 months of 2025, the number of domestic visitors reached 125 million, reflecting that the demand for domestic tourism is still very large, especially among families, women and young people. Journeys to "heritage lands", " agricultural tourism" or "green living with the community" ... are increasingly popular.

In many localities such as Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Da Nang or Can Tho, the image of local women participating in homestays, guiding tourists, cooking home-cooked meals... has become a gentle and lasting highlight for the picture of Vietnamese tourism.
Total revenue for 10 months reached over 858 trillion VND
It is estimated that total revenue from tourists in the first 10 months of 2025 will reach about 858 trillion VND, a sharp increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Key localities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh all recorded revenue increases of 15-30%. Along with that, cultural, sports and festival activities - especially events for women and families - have contributed to promoting domestic tourism spending.

The trend of tourism associated with health care and mental balance is becoming a "golden land" for businesses targeting modern female customers.

New impetus for Vietnam tourism at the end of the year
According to experts, this impressive growth comes from the expansion of the e-visa policy for citizens of 100 countries, and the opening of new direct flights between Vietnam and Europe and Northeast Asia.
Promotional campaigns such as "Live Fully in Vietnam", "Live fully with Vietnam" or the event series "Vietnam - Go to love" continue to be strongly deployed on digital platforms, helping the country's image spread widely to the international tourist community.
Aiming for the target of 20 million international visitors
From October's results, Vietnam's tourism industry is getting very close to the target of welcoming 20 million international visitors in 2025, surpassing the pre-pandemic mark.
This is not only a numerical achievement, but also a testament to the enduring vitality of the Vietnamese tourism industry after years of turmoil. The image of a dynamic, hospitable Vietnam is gradually making its mark as a destination of peace, identity and authentic experiences, where every journey leaves an emotional mark.
