The art program on the opening night of the Vietnamese Cultural Days in Russia left a special impression.

The highlight of the Opening Ceremony of the Vietnamese Cultural Days in the Russian Federation was the special art program, elaborately staged and full of creativity, not only highlighting the unique cultural features of Vietnam but also demonstrating the exchange and similarities between the two traditional cultures of Vietnam and Russia. At the same time, praising the strong friendship that has been tested over the years between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

The program was warmly received by thousands of Russian audiences. The thunderous applause and compliments from the audience after each performance by Vietnamese artists were the clearest proof of the success of the opening ceremony of the Vietnamese Cultural Days in the Russian Federation in 2024.

The work Afternoon in Moscow was performed by Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thi Le Giang (monochord), Artist Dao To Loan (soprano), Artist Nguyen Khac Hoa (baritone), Harp and the National Music Group of the Vietnam Academy of Music, receiving long applause from the audience.

Excitedly watching the opening ceremony of the Vietnamese Cultural Days in the Russian Federation, Mr. Ivan Maltsev said that he has been to Vietnam 4 times and has special feelings for the country and people of Vietnam.

However, according to Ivan Maltsev, this was the first time he witnessed Vietnamese artists performing Vietnamese traditional musical instruments and other world instruments in the Russian musical style.

"The performances were wonderful. Through each performance, I understood more about the country, people and especially Vietnamese culture. Vietnam appeared vividly and beautifully through each performance. I will definitely return to Vietnam again," Ivan Maltsev shared.

Mr. Ivan Maltsev said he was very impressed with the art program at the opening ceremony.

Particularly impressed with the performance of Vietnamese artists, Ms. Irina Kovrigina, an audience member at the opening ceremony, said she loved the artists' costumes, which were Vietnamese national costumes, along with the musical instruments and wonderful performances.

Ms. Irina Kovrigina said that cultural exchange activities like this between the two countries are very meaningful, the Russian public has the opportunity to understand more about Vietnamese culture and people, bringing the two nations closer together. Thereby, further strengthening the long-lasting traditional relationship between the two countries.

"I hope that cultural exchange activities between the two countries will be held regularly so that Russian people will have the opportunity to enjoy more wonderful performances like this," said Ms. Irina Kovrigina.

The performance not only created special excitement for Russian audiences but also left a deep impression on Vietnamese audiences living and studying here.

Mr. Pham Duy Nguyen, an international student studying at the GVPlekhanov Russian University of Economics, said: "I was very moved when I watched the opening ceremony of the Vietnamese Cultural Days in the Russian Federation. Especially when the beloved costumes and musical instruments of the Vietnamese people were present in the heart of Russia and received a special welcome from the Russian audience.

It was a great pride when many performances of the artists ended, the applause that lasted for a minute echoed throughout the auditorium. I hope that programs like this will be held regularly so that Russian people and Vietnamese people living far from home like us have the opportunity to "immerse" ourselves in a cultural space rich in Vietnamese identity right in the heart of Moscow", Mr. Pham Duy Nguyen expressed.

Sharing about the success of the program, People's Artist Bui Cong Duy, Deputy Director of the National Academy of Music, who became famous from the Traikovsky Conservatory, Russian Federation and also performed many performances at the opening ceremony, said that because the event is held annually, the program always needs to be renewed and approached in a new way so that Russian audiences can most easily feel the beauty of traditional culture as well as the creativity of Vietnamese artists.

People's Artist Bui Cong Duy shared with the press after the opening ceremony.

"When creating the program, we designed it to be able to perform our national musical instruments but at the same time still ensure the academic nature of it to meet the requirements of the Russian audience. Thanks to that, it contributed to the success of the program," People's Artist Bui Cong Duy said, adding that culture is a very good bridge to connect the people of the two countries towards good values.

The opening ceremony of "Vietnamese Cultural Days in the Russian Federation" in 2024 is the opening event for a series of art performances, exhibitions, Vietnamese film screenings, tourism promotion and introduction programs taking place in the capital Moscow, Russia's second largest city St Petersburg and Ulianovsk city, promising to bring to Russia the image of a "safe, friendly, peaceful, hospitable, integrated and developing Vietnam".

Speaking to the press on the sidelines of the opening ceremony, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung emphasized that the Vietnamese Cultural Days in Russia this time are even more meaningful as the two countries are preparing to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the basic principles of friendly relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

At the same time, the organization of Vietnamese Cultural Days in Russia is a vivid manifestation of the implementation of the Joint Statement on deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, during the recent state visit of President Vladimir Putin to Vietnam as well as towards the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung also said that in the coming time, cultural cooperation between the two countries will continue to be promoted, going deeper and more specifically through new areas of cooperation.
