Program "17th Parallel"

On the evening of August 16, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vinh Linh Area's Traditional Day, Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with Quang Tri province organized the political art program "Parallel 17 - Aspiration for Peace".

The program includes a ceremony and a political art program. The art program has 5 chapters: The Days of July, As if there was no separation, Blood and flowers, Where the strength of Vietnam is seen, The land of steel blooms. The art program "Parallel 17 - the desire for peace" is elaborately staged with specially designed sound and light.

The program aims to review the years of division between the North and the South. Twenty years of pain, loss and sacrifice have further fueled the desire for peace and national unity in every Vietnamese person.

Thereby, widely propagating the historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions of the nation; educating political ideology, ethics and lifestyle; more strongly arousing patriotism and promoting cultural values, strength and dedication of all Vietnamese people.

The program has also brought a new Parallel 17 - a new Vinh Linh, a Quang Tri that is growing stronger day by day, an impressive tourist destination, historical discovery for visitors; connecting people at home and abroad, connecting the past - present and together towards a peaceful and beautiful future.

Attending and giving a speech at the program, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong praised Nhan Dan Newspaper, Quang Tri province and agencies and units that coordinated to organize the above meaningful program.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly hopes that the program will be a heartfelt incense offering to show gratitude for the great sacrifices of our compatriots and comrades, further rekindling the flame of patriotism, the will to be self-reliant, the spirit of solidarity, and the aspiration to build and protect the Fatherland.
