Accordingly, at the invitation of Jinxin Xinan IVF Hospital - a leading unit in the field of infertility treatment in China, 2 Vietnamese experts came to teach and transfer technology in the field of assisted reproduction. This event marked a turning point in medical cooperation between the two countries; at the same time, it affirmed that the capacity of research and development of infertility treatment techniques in Vietnam is increasingly recognized internationally.

During a working week (from July 30 to August 5), two Vietnamese experts, Dr. Ho Ngoc Anh Vu, Head of the My Duc IVF Unit (IVF My Duc) and Master Pham Hoang Huy, embryologist at the My Duc Phu Nhuan IVF Unit (IVF My Duc Phu Nhuan) carried out many important transfer contents such as: in-depth training, theoretical and practical guidance for the team of doctors and embryologists at Jinxin Xinan IVF Hospital; directly participating in the treatment of the first patients using the My Duc IVM technique in China.

In addition, establish standards, basic procedures and train Chinese colleagues so that they can do it themselves in the future, ensuring the quality of eggs and embryos; guide how to build a data collection and management system to serve the work of quality management and scientific research in the future.

“The first babies born in China from the American-German IVM technique will be a clear demonstration of the superiority, safety and humanity that this technology brings to infertile couples. Chinese colleagues will also gradually master and develop this technique in China,” Dr. Ho Ngoc Anh Vu hopes.

According to Dr. Ho Ngoc Anh Vu, the non-ovarian stimulation in vitro fertilization technique at IVF My Duc, or My Duc style IVM for short, is considered a revolution in infertility treatment.

If in the past, the classic IVF technique required injecting many hormones to stimulate the ovaries, causing the patient's treatment process to have a high risk of complications, and the treatment cost was quite high and complicated, then with the American-German IVM technique, patients enjoy improvements such as: no need to inject ovarian stimulation drugs at all; limiting complications of ovarian stimulation drugs, especially ovarian hyperstimulation complications.

At the same time, it ensures safety, saves time and treatment costs; is convenient, reduces stress and pressure for patients during treatment. This method is especially suitable for patients at high risk of ovarian hyperstimulation, with specific pathologies or women who want a friendly treatment technique that does not use hormones.

The classical IVM technique has been performed in Vietnam since 2006 and quickly made Vietnam one of the pioneering countries in this technique. By 2016, 610 children had been born in Vietnam thanks to the IVM method.

Also at this time, My Duc Hospital marked a turning point in the development of this technique when it successfully researched and implemented the improved My Duc-style IVM protocol with a new 2-step culture process, creating superior results compared to previous IVM protocols. This new technique helps increase the rate of egg maturation, significantly improve embryo quality and significantly increase the success rate, opening a new trend in assisted reproductive technology in Vietnam and around the world .
