Ms. H Thin Byă (36 years old), Ede ethnic, living in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak, has a husband, Mr. Mozie Uchenna Clement (Nigerian nationality).

Sharing with Thanh Nien , Ms. H Thin Byă said that in 2013, she really liked learning English but because she was quite shy, her communication skills were very poor. The girl thought she needed to improve this to be able to find a better job. At that time, she was working as a worker in Binh Duong .

The Ede girl knew about Nigeria but not much. She made many African friends when living in Ho Chi Minh City and they left a very good impression. She never thought of marrying an African but she really liked and loved them through the videos she saw on TV.

She always wished to go there one day to give candy to the children there. The two talked back and forth, expressed their feelings and decided to fall in love thanks to the connection over the phone.

The wedding was held with the presence and blessings of relatives and friends.

The two first met in Malaysia in 2016 after three years of long-distance relationships. Even though it was their first meeting, he made them feel familiar, safe, and protected. "It felt like it was my destiny," she said.

Broken up for 4 years

The couple met for 4 days, Ms. H Thin Byă had to return to Vietnam. At that time, she thought it would be difficult for them to meet again because of the geographical distance, which hindered travel between countries. When she returned to Vietnam, her heart was heavy, and she cried more because of the difficulties they had to face. After a while, they decided to break up because of the geographical distance, and she was a worker and did not have much money to easily meet each other. When they decided to break up, they cried their eyes out. After 4 years apart, it took her more than 3 years to get over it, but deep down she still couldn't stop thinking about each other.

"At the end of 2022, he mustered up the courage to text back and decided to get back together. I still remember the text message "I'm waiting for you, I'll come back to Vietnam to marry you", Ms. H Thin Byă shared. When she met him, no one in her family knew. When she decided to meet him, the first person she told was her father. She was advised to be careful not to be deceived. She affirmed to her father that he was a good person, so although she was worried, she did not stop him. The two just got married in January 2024. When posting videos of their married life online, many people commented negatively, saying that she married a foreigner for economic reasons . Regarding this, Ms. H Thin Byă said that at first she posted it to save normal moments but did not expect people to be interested.

Mozie Uchemna Clement is loved by his wife's family.

"In fact, his family is not well off, so we tried very hard to reunite. He supported me a lot, and negative comments no longer bothered me," the Ede wife said. To her, he is an emotional person, always thinking of others, loving his wife and both families. She has never been to Nigeria. However, his Nigerian compatriots still attended and congratulated the wedding. She is also grateful for their enthusiastic help with her and her husband. She will try to visit her husband's family in the near future.

Mr. Mozie Uchemna Clement expressed that he did not decide to come to Vietnam to get married. He came to Vietnam because his destiny was to become Ms. H Thin Byă's husband. "I cannot compare my wife to any other girl on this planet because her personality is so special. I cannot express all the love I have for my wife. I feel secure and comfortable when I am with her. My wife is the motivation for me to achieve my goals, making me see that nothing is impossible," the husband said.

Currently, Ms. H Thin Byă is in Buon Ma Thuot City.
