Denise Sung once read William Shakespeare's play "Twelfth Night." It's a romantic comedy with a main character named Sebastian. She was drawn to Sebastian's story, and especially loved the character and his name.
Unexpectedly, the girl who grew up in Taiwan (China) later unexpectedly met a man also named Sebastian. That was in 2015, Denise's friend got married and asked her to be her bridesmaid.
She agreed and on her friend's trip back to her hometown, she went out with the group. On the night out before the wedding, she met a guy named Sebastian from Germany.
“That’s my favorite name,” Denise exclaimed as soon as she met Sebastian. This surprised him, as the name was quite common in his hometown. The two kept each other’s contact information, but didn’t expect to see each other again anytime soon.

In the summer of 2016, Denise traveled to Europe. While they were chatting, Sebastian casually mentioned that he would be returning home to Germany at the same time. So Denise decided to include this place in her itinerary.
For Denise, she felt that Sebastian was very "honest and sincere". Sebastian also liked to take her to visit his hometown. He felt that when he saw her again in Germany, their relationship became closer and more intimate.
In the summer of 2017, he visited Denise's place of residence and work in California, USA. Their feelings for each other grew stronger.
Denise confessed her feelings to Sebastian and suggested a long-distance relationship. But because of the great distance, Sebastian was a bit hesitant. However, Denise's determination helped him strengthen his faith.
They meet up all over the world , at least once every two months, and become more and more attached.
It has been 9 years since Denise and Sebastian first met. Overcoming many difficulties and challenges of a long-distance relationship, the couple finally got married in the spring of 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany.
"I'm glad we met in a completely unfamiliar place. I look forward to the future journey we will have together," Sebastian said.
Denise is also excited about that future. She feels that meeting her husband many years ago was fate.
"I believe in cosmic energy, and I also believe in fate. He is from Frankfurt, Germany. I grew up in rural Taiwan, China. We met by chance in a place neither of us expected. If that's not fate, then what is it?
More specifically, his name is also the name I have loved for a long time. Perhaps, I have known for a long time that I would marry Sebastian," Denise shared.
