English teacher in Hanoi is creative, has many good students, is commented "like a mother"

Over the past 30 years, together with the Foreign Language Department, English teacher Dinh Thi Bich Lien has contributed her best to the training career, always finding ways to inspire and stimulate creativity in students, helping them achieve high results in exams.

In the list of Hanoi Department of Education and Training awarded the title of City-level Emulation Fighter, Ms. Dinh Thi Bich Lien, English teacher at Lomonosov Secondary and High School, Nam Tu Liem District, is one of 17 people who achieved this year.

Sharing with Dan Viet newspaper about her chance to become a teacher, Ms. Lien said that she was born and raised in an intellectual family in her hometown of Thanh Hoa. From her family's tradition of studiousness, she passed the entrance exam to the University of Foreign Languages ​​- Hanoi National University. After studying here, Ms. Lien continued to study abroad in Belgorod city, Russia to practice, improve herself, accumulate knowledge, and catch up with moderneducation .

After completing her studies, Ms. Lien officially returned to Vietnam and became an English teacher at Lomonosov Secondary and High School in 1993. Over the past 30 years, together with the Foreign Language Department, she has contributed her best to the training career, always finding ways to inspire and stimulate creativity in students.

As Deputy Head of the Foreign Language Group, Ms. Lien is not only responsible for teaching students in class, tutoring and supporting them, but also pays much attention to supporting and guiding young teachers to develop their expertise and improve their skills.

The teacher is like a caring mother with many creative experiences.

Ms. Lien shared that in the 4.0 era, English communication skills are emphasized, so after each lesson, Ms. Lien sets a goal for students to be able to communicate with each other about the topic they have just learned. She has applied many technology tools in learning to evaluate students, such as using quizizz in testing, reviewing and practicing, flipgrid in English speaking activities, padlet in writing activities about discussion and evidence.

In addition, she also participated in writing the experience initiative "How to build and organize effective online project lessons for the 12th grade English book program - 10-year system" to help students who have to stay at home for too long due to the Covid-19 epidemic to love the subject more, training them to be proactive and self-disciplined. For other students, the above method also helps them to be confident and write scientific reports in English accurately. She is always proactive in looking for KET, PET, IELTS competitions and online competitions such as TOEFL JUNIOR so that students can test themselves and self-assess their abilities.

The topic "Some solutions to help 12th grade students achieve high results in the National High School Graduation Exam in English" is an initiative of hers that has been recognized for its scope of influence and effectiveness at the City and Industry levels for the 2022-2023 school year. Or the topic "Effectively promoting English communication skills for 12th grade students through games applied in the lesson "COMMUNICATION AND CULTURE" English book 12 - 10-year system" is also recognized for its scope of influence and effectiveness at the Industry level for the 2023-2024 school year.

She has always done an excellent job in charge of the English team for grades 9 and 12. She always finds and selects difficult and interesting exercises to include in her lessons; researches the content of previous years' exams to come up with strategies suitable for the level of each school year. With the spirit of "discipline, professionalism, dedication and creativity", she has effectively exploited the online E-Learning lecture library, taught and managed through the "Connected School" website.

Up to now, many of her students have passed the entrance exams to specialized schools, selective classes, and universities and have all been successful.
