Opportunity for young people to live responsibly and sustainably

In 2025, many new policies and regulations will be implemented that will not only contribute to improving the quality of life, but also create clear changes in people's awareness and behavior.

Especially for young people, this is an opportunity to demonstrate a pioneering role in building a healthy, responsible lifestyle and moving towards sustainable development.

When it comes to new policies and regulations, many people often think of constraints and sanctions. However, from a positive perspective, this is also the “key” to opening up new opportunities, especially for the younger generation. In Tay Ninh , new policies and regulations not only affect daily behavior but also give young people the opportunity to practice community awareness, develop and start a business.

In particular, from regulations banning laughing gas and electronic cigarettes to mandatory waste classification at source, controlling motorbike emissions and many comprehensive support policies for young people, all show great efforts of authorities in orienting young people to live a civilized, healthy life and proactively contribute to building a modern, sustainable society.

For young people, this is the time to adjust their habits and lifestyles, and also an opportunity to demonstrate their pioneering role, ready to switch to a healthy lifestyle, and be responsible for themselves and the community.

After the regulation completely banning products such as laughing gas, electronic cigarettes, heated tobacco and shisha officially took effect, Tay Ninh recorded clear changes, especially among young people. These seemingly harmless products have many serious health consequences, from the risk of addiction, damage to the respiratory and nervous systems to negative psychological effects such as depression and anxiety.

In the past, it was not difficult to see groups of young people chatting and using e-cigarettes or laughing gas at entertainment venues. However, since the ban was implemented, this situation has decreased significantly. Thanks to the ban, many people have been motivated to give up and switch to a healthier lifestyle. Instead of hanging around with chemical-filled smoking and inhaling devices, many young people have proactively joined sports clubs, gyms, running groups, cycling, yoga or volunteer activities... all of which are options to help improve both physical and mental health.

The environmental sector has also witnessed many breakthrough changes. According to the revised Law on Environmental Protection, which will take effect from 2025, waste classification at source is mandatory. Each household, agency, and enterprise must voluntarily divide waste into three groups: organic waste, recyclable waste, and non-recyclable waste, to reduce the burden on treatment facilities, while limiting resource waste and increasing the ability to reuse.

Along with the regulation on waste classification at source, in 2025, many environmental policies supporting action will also be recorded, from the responsibility for recycling electronic waste, controlling emissions, to regulations on the use of waste classification packaging. From there, not only will civic responsibility be enhanced, but also conditions will be created for young people to pioneer a green lifestyle, aiming for the goal of net-zero (net zero emissions) through their daily choices.

Many environmental policies and orientations for 2025 are gradually coming into reality. At the Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has issued a recommendation for people not to bring nylon bags, votive offerings, styrofoam boxes, and single-use plastic items. This direction contributes to building the image of a tourist area without plastic waste, friendly and sustainable.

Similarly, in Hoa Thanh town, the Youth Union and Tay Ninh Green Community have jointly launched the campaign “Earth Day Vietnam 2025” with many practical activities: eliminating waste hotspots; distributing environmentally friendly bags; exchanging old plastic batteries for gifts; organizing a photo contest “Green Action Moments”. These activities not only spread the spirit of green living, but also contribute to forming positive action habits in the community, especially among young people.

Not only in the environment, the spirit of changing behavior and living responsibly is also spreading in the transport sector with important adjustments, reflecting a stricter management orientation, while raising the awareness of traffic participants.

New regulations in the environmental field help spread the spirit of green living and positive lifestyle among young people.

One of the notable points is the application of a points system on driving licenses. Accordingly, each license is issued 12 points per year. When a driver violates traffic laws, points will be deducted depending on the severity. If all points are deducted, the driver will have his/her license suspended for 6 months and must take a legal knowledge test to have his/her points restored. A roadmap for controlling motorbike emissions has also been set, aiming at periodic inspections for vehicles that have been in use for 5 years or more.

Along with promoting sustainable socio-economic development, many policies to support youth are continued to be promoted in the direction of integrating a sense of responsibility to the community. A typical example is encouraging youth to participate in volunteering for the community and developing new rural areas.

At the same time, policies to support young people in starting businesses, especially green startups and community-based startups, continue to be promoted. Many provincial-level startup incubator models have been implemented, creating conditions for young people to not only enrich themselves but also contribute to solving environmental problems, employment and local development in a harmonious way.

The Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association held a launching ceremony for the No. 1 Startup Incubator, under the Investment & Startup Club. This incubator is expected to become a comprehensive support platform for youth startup projects, providing workspace, legal advice, skills training and connection with strategic partners. This is an important step in developing the local startup ecosystem, creating favorable conditions for youth to realize their ideas and contribute to the development of the province.

It can be seen that, regardless of the different fields such as health, environment or transportation, new policies or regulations being strongly implemented all aim at the same goal: protecting health, improving the quality of life and building a foundation for sustainable development. The remaining task is how to make each individual, especially young people, aware and proactively seize opportunities. Young people, with their advantages in knowledge, quick learning ability and sensitivity to trends, are the group that can easily adapt and effectively implement innovative regulations and policies. From there, they can demonstrate a pioneering role in building a civilized and responsible lifestyle.
