The Chance for Success is a realistic portrait of American education, sketched with wit, qualitative and quantitative evidence to prove the point about the failure of current American education.
Exams, memorization, outdated and empty teaching content have eroded the will, creativity, imagination and joy of learning of students.
The world has changed a lot compared to 100 years ago. Economy , technology, life in the new era require workers to have not only knowledge, attitude, skills but also the ability to adapt, work in groups, and solve problems creatively.
In addition, Tony and Ted also pointed out that 21st century schools need to teach new, updated, and applicable knowledge, building students' creativity, problem-solving thinking, and collaboration to achieve success, rather than going into tons of theoretical content.
The challenges facing American education are also "shadows" of many other education systems in the world .
The book is considered a spiritual gift to help teachers reflect on the true meaning of education and school on their sacred journey of "growing people".
