On June 23, information from the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai province said that the work of arranging schools for about 600 students who are children of officials, civil servants and public employees transferred from Kon Tum province is still facing many "confusions".
Although theeducational facilities in Quang Ngai City are assessed to be capable of receiving, the number of parents simultaneously applying for admission to several central schools has caused a local overload situation.
According to the report, most of the officials from Kon Tum who transferred to Quang Ngai want to send their children to schools in Tran Hung Dao and Nguyen Nghiem wards (Quang Ngai city). Meanwhile, schools with good quality and equally good learning conditions such as Tran Phu, Chanh Lo, Nghia Lo are in a situation of "overcrowding, understaffing".
A representative of the Quang Ngai City Department of Education said that they have proactively reviewed the registration list and developed a plan for student transfer. However, public pressure from the “unevenness” in arranging children of officials has also made it difficult for relevant units to handle the situation.
"If we accept all of them, it will be overloaded, but if we transfer some of them to other schools, it will easily lead to misunderstandings and comparisons among staff," an education leader shared.

The main difficulties currently are concentrated in primary and secondary schools. For high schools, representatives of the Department of Education and Training said that schools such as Tran Quoc Tuan, Le Khiet, and Le Trung Dinh still have the capacity to accept more students.
Previously, at the Conference announcing the conclusion of the Standing Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee on key personnel in 56 communes, wards and special zones (June 20), Provincial Party Secretary Bui Thi Quynh Van informed that about 600 children of Kon Tum officials will be transferred to Quang Ngai City to study, according to the restructuring roadmap after the merger.
Also according to this project, after the merger, the new Quang Ngai province will have an area of over 14,800 km2, a population of over 1.8 million people, including 96 communes, wards and special zones. Of which, 1,100 officials from Kon Tum province will move to work in Quang Ngai city.
To support the process of settling in and working, the province has planned to pay housing support and travel expenses for officials and their families.
