The workshop "Turning passion for technology into a stepping stone for a career" attracted the participation of many students.

From the employer's perspective, Mr. Truong Tuan Vinh, Deputy Head of Recruitment Department of Samsung Electronics HCM CE Complex, said that Vietnamese students currently lack soft skills such as communication, CV writing, time management skills and emotional care...

According to Mr. Vinh, in the past, technology was just a field, a profession, but now technology has become a common skill that everyone must know how to use and have a certain understanding of it. Without knowledge and skills in technology, it will be very difficult to complete work in any profession or field.

If young people have a good foundation of professional knowledge, combined with technological skills and soft skills, they will have more options in finding suitable jobs in the context of the current technology boom. Employers and education experts share tips to help students stay ahead of future trends.

To impress employers, according to Mr. Truong Tuan Vinh, students need to have good skills in writing a CV, focusing on showing personal strengths such as previous jobs, fields of study and short-term and long-term career goals. In addition, students need to learn carefully about the main products of the company they are applying to in order to perform well in the interview; maintain a confident and comfortable demeanor during the interview; send emails and thank-you letters after the interview. In addition, students also need to be steadfast in their goals, flexible and creative to quickly adapt to changes in today's volatile world .

Dr. Truong Xuan Nam, Director of the Information Technology Center, Thuy Loi University, also said that there is currently a large gap between the knowledge that students in general, and technology students in particular, learn in the classroom and the requirements of reality. This causes some students to "stumble" when participating in internships at businesses. However, according to Mr. Nam, recognizing stumbling blocks, difficulties and problems that need to be solved is a sign that students are acquiring the necessary things to prepare for future success.

"You should not be discouraged because "progress must go through suffering". The business environment and the school environment are very different. If in the school environment, failure can be re-done, in the business environment it will be more severe, failure will have to be paid for immediately with a salary reduction, or even loss of job. Therefore, you should not be too confident, nor be too afraid of stumbling blocks and difficulties", Dr. Truong Xuan Nam shared.

Dr. Pham Thi Hai Yen, Deputy Head of the Department of Skills Development, Thuy Loi University, also noted that for technology students, if they cannot present the product they have designed, it is a big obstacle. Besides, it is the skill of working and cooperating with colleagues and partners to complete the product. In fact, in this field, the most disadvantaged people are those who work well but speak poorly. This requires you to make an effort to practice soft skills, especially presentation skills, self-study skills and initiative in work...
