Otago University is launching a Bachelor's Scholarship program exclusively for Vietnamese students, with a total value of up to 1 billion VND. |
Specifically, from May 1 to August 31, 2025, eligible Vietnamese students are allowed to apply for 3 scholarship programs at the same time, including:
● The Otago Global Scholarships - Vietnam are worth NZD 15,000, with no limit on the number of students and are available to all Vietnamese students who meet the entry requirements for undergraduate programs at the University of Otago in 2026.
● The Otago International Academic Excellence Scholarship, worth approximately NZD 35,000 (including living expenses in the first year, and part of the tuition fees in the second and third years), is for Vietnamese students with excellent academic achievements who will study for a Bachelor's degree at Otago in 2026. This scholarship can be combined with the Otago Global Scholarships - Vietnam program, bringing the total value up to NZD 50,000 (equivalent to approximately VND 770 million).
● After receiving an admission letter from the University of Otago, Vietnamese students can apply for the New Zealand Universities Awards (NZUA) worth NZD 15,000. UNZA is implemented byEducation New Zealand in collaboration with New Zealand universities specifically for Vietnamese students. The University of Otago offers 3 NZUA scholarships to 3 Vietnamese students.
These 3 scholarship programs can be combined with a total value of up to 65,000 NZD (equivalent to about 1 billion VND), applicable for the February 2026 intake.
Ms. Tam Le, Director of Southeast Asia, University of Otago shared: “This is the first time that Otago University has launched an exclusive scholarship package for Vietnamese students. Up to now, this is the largest scholarship package for undergraduate students from a New Zealand university. This demonstrates Otago University’s strong commitment to attracting and supporting Vietnamese students with excellent academic achievements, while creating conditions for them to study at the first and oldest university in New Zealand.”
