Gia Lai Provincial Police visited and wished a Happy New Year to armed forces in Cambodia

(GLO)- On April 7 and 8, a working delegation led by Major General Rah Lan Lam - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department visited and presented gifts to the police, military, and customs forces of the Kingdom of Cambodia on the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year 2025.

In a joyful and affectionate atmosphere, on behalf of the Party Committee Standing Committee and the leaders of Gia Lai Provincial Police, Major General Rah Lan Lam sent New Year greetings to all leaders, officers and soldiers of Ratanakiri and Stung Treng Provincial Police (Kingdom of Cambodia). The Major General acknowledged and highly appreciated the positive results in the coordination in crime prevention and control between the Police of Vietnam and Cambodia in general and the Police of neighboring provinces in particular.

The Director of Gia Lai Provincial Police also informed about some outstanding results and achievements of the Central Party Committee of the Public Security, the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security on the "revolution" of streamlining the apparatus in the Public Security force, dissolving the District-level Public Security, increasing the number of officers and soldiers to the grassroots, closer to the People to better and more effectively perform the function of fighting and preventing crime. Major General Rah Lan Lam hopes that the Police of the neighboring country will continue to pay attention to and maintain coordination with the local Public Security of Vietnam in the coming time. He believes that, in any circumstances, the traditional relationship between the Public Security of the two countries, especially the border provinces, will become increasingly united, strong and developed.

In response to the delegation's deep sentiments, the leaders of Ratanakiri and Stung Treng Provincial Police expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the support and assistance of Gia Lai Police in many fields, especially in maintaining security and defense on the border and building solidarity and friendship between the people of the two countries. At the same time, the leaders of the Police of the two neighboring provinces affirmed that the relationship between the Police of the provinces will be the foundation for building a solid security posture, effectively fighting against all types of crimes, contributing to promoting the local economy and society to develop more and more sustainably.

On this occasion, the delegation of Gia Lai Provincial Police visited, wished a happy new year, and presented gifts to Border Protection Police Battalion 623, the Police Station, the Customs Branch, the Joint Station of Oyadav International Border Gate (Ratanakiri Province) bordering Le Thanh International Border Gate, Duc Co District). The parties had a friendly conversation, wishing to regularly contact, maintain coordination regulations, and exchange information between forces in the work of ensuring security and order on the border line and border gate areas; fighting against all types of crimes, especially smuggling, trade fraud, economic fraud, drugs, environmental crimes, illegal border crossings, etc.

In Stung Treng province, leaders of Gia Lai Provincial Police and the working delegation also visited and presented gifts to encourage officers and soldiers of Team K52 (Gia Lai Provincial Military Command) on the mission of searching for, collecting, and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who died during the war in Cambodia.
