The 3rd Asian Film Festival - Da Nang was held on the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, so the Organizing Committee devoted the main program of the Film Festival to the theme "Half a century of Vietnamese films about war".
DANAFF III will screen in theaters more than twenty selected films about war, produced after 1975, along with meetings and conversations between the audience and artists and filmmakers.
22 films in the program “Half a century of Vietnamese war films” will be screened for free during the third Asian Film Festival - Da Nang (June 29 to July 5) at cinemas in Da Nang City. Audiences attending the program will have the opportunity to interact with famous artists and listen to interesting and memorable film stories.

Among the 22 films, there are classics, loved by audiences of many generations such as "The Wild Field", "Legend of the Mother", "When Mother is Away", "Fairy Tales for 17-Year-Olds", "Fierce Childhood"...
Some films have been awarded domestic and international film awards such as "The Wild Field" which was awarded the Gold Medal at the Moscow International Film Festival in 1981, the Golden Lotus Award at the Vietnam Film Festival in 1980, the Crystal Vase Award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 1980 and the Golden Lotus Award at the Vietnam Film Festival in 1980, the First Prize of the Unesco International Cinema Organization at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (Czechoslovakia) in 1978, "First Love" won the Silver Boat Award at the 21st Neo-Realism International Film Festival, Italy in 1981, the First Prize of the Unesco International Cinema Organization at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (Czechoslovakia) in 1978 and the Silver Lotus 1980.

Also in this key program, an important workshop with the theme "Imprints of Vietnam's war films since the country's reunification" will comprehensively recognize and evaluate the achievements, values and position of war films in the development of cinema in particular, and promote the image of Vietnam to the world in general.
Program details and screening schedules will be widely announced by the Organizing Committee on the media, as well as the Film Festival's communication channels, including the Facebook Fanpage and TikTok channel of the Da Nang Asian Film Festival in June.
The third Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF III) returns to Vietnamese and international filmmakers and movie lovers from June 29 to July 5 in the coastal city of Da Nang.
This is the first and only annual film festival held in Vietnam, leaving a strong impression of professionalism, breakthrough development and new creativity in each film festival.
