Where people like to exercise
To create more options suitable for people's health as well as to help the exercise place be airy, clean, and have trees, the People's Committee of the commune chose the area in front of the Martyrs' Temple of the commune to install exercise equipment such as a model of walking in the air, two hands holding a hula hoop...
This playground has been maintained for nearly 4-5 years, becoming a familiar place for people to meet and exercise regularly. At dawn, around 4:30 am, there were members of the cycling group, then the walking group stopped here to spend 10-15 minutes warming up, starting their exercise session for the new day. At around 6 am, the atmosphere became bustling and bustling because the playground had many people coming to exercise, then inviting each other for coffee, some people took the time to tell each other stories about the village and the neighborhood, and the children were playing and chattering...

It should also be added that the exercise area for the people is also a "golden land" - in the center of the commune, near the market, so many people live. The exercise area has a beautiful, clean space, so it attracts many women to come to play, exercise and improve their health. It is also a place for people to chat, share joys and sorrows in life.
Plant flowers along the route
One of the notable points in the current new rural construction is that on the traffic routes of communes in Cu Chi district (An Phu, An Nhon Tay, Nhuan Duc, Trung Lap Thuong, etc.), there are green areas along both sides, contributing to making the local appearance more brilliant. The trees often chosen to be planted along both sides of the road are usually yellow trumpet flowers, purple flowers, chrysanthemums, and star flowers. The authorities of the communes also encourage those whose roads pass through them to plant more flowers in front of their gates or empty gardens and together preserve, maintain, and care for them.

Once, when I participated in the tree planting ceremony on Trung Lap Street, Trung Lap Thuong Commune, I learned that the entire route is nearly 7,000 m long, passing through 4 hamlets: Trung Hiep Thanh, Rang, Dong Lon and Sa Nho, with nearly 900 golden bell trees planted on the route, and the total investment capital of nearly 100 million VND was mobilized from benefactors.
In addition, the People's Committee of Trung Lap Thuong Commune also regularly reminds people in writing and broadcasts on loudspeakers to encourage people to implement Directive 19 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - not to litter on the streets and canals. Every week, the commune organizes Green Sunday, all people participate in cleaning and clearing weeds along Quyet Thang Canal and roads in the commune. This activity has become a habit, and has been maintained and organized regularly for many years.
The authorities of 8 hamlets in Trung Lap Thuong commune, Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City pay great attention to beautifying the roads in their locality by creating many green areas for the natural environment, keeping the air clean and fresh; planting flowers on the sidewalks to make the living space brighter; and people together sweep the trash on the streets... I think that is also an image showing the cultural beauty that is highly respected and praised.
People agree to donate land to build roads
Mr. Do Trong Tai, Party Secretary of Trung Binh Hamlet, Trung Lap Thuong Commune, Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City once said: "For many years now, people living in the hamlet, especially those living on both sides of the traffic roads in the hamlet, have had to endure flooded and muddy roads when it rains, making it impossible for people to walk, let alone vehicles. And when it's sunny, the dust is everywhere. Every time a car passes by, even though the house is tightly closed, dust still seeps in and sticks to the tables, chairs, TVs, refrigerators...". To "escape" this situation, the only way is to concrete the roads. The Steering Committee for the new rural construction program of Cu Chi District and Trung Lap Thuong Commune agreed on the policy of building concrete roads, in the form of the state and the people working together, so the Party cell met and unanimously passed a resolution to mobilize people to remove architectural objects and donate land to build roads.

When the resolution on the policy of building concrete roads in the hamlet of the Party cell was widely deployed among the people, every household unanimously supported. At first, the Party cell proposed to build road 707, 925 m long, 6 m wide, with a concrete road surface of 5 m, and 1 m on both sides, and a total investment of 3.2 billion VND from the state. In the local area of the hamlet, there were 13 households living along this road who voluntarily removed their structures or donated land when the road crossed. As a result, the people contributed 5 million VND and an area of over 500 m2 of land worth over 1 billion VND. The largest contributors were Mr. Huynh Hong Ca (donated 200 m2 ), Mr. Le Thanh Hung, Mr. Phan Van Rac, Mr. Huynh Van Hanh (each household donated over 50 m2 ).
Creating a cool exercise yard, fresh air, a tree-lined road, and a raised, concrete road so there is no more dusty sun or muddy rain, these are the highlights that the government of the commune where I live has implemented in recent years.
