Union shares loss with family of union member who died in work accident

STO - On the afternoon of June 12, comrade Trinh Thi Bao Khuyen - Vice President of the Soc Trang Provincial Labor Federation, together with the Tran De Fishing Port Management Board and related units, visited, expressed condolences and provided support to the family of Mr. NTP (32 years old), a member of the Tran De Fishing Port Stevedoring Union in Trung Binh commune, Tran De district, who unfortunately died while working.

At Mr. P's family, comrade Trinh Thi Bao Khuyen expressed her deep condolences and encouraged the family to overcome the pain of loss soon. At the same time, she presented a financial support of 5 million VND to help the family cover some of the immediate difficulties. The representative of the Provincial Federation of Labor also expressed her hope that employers would pay more attention to occupational safety and hygiene to prevent unfortunate accidents.

Previously, at around 11am on June 11, while operating an ice crusher at Tran De Fishing Port, Mr. NTP suddenly slipped and was caught in the operating machine. The serious accident caused Mr. P's right leg to be crushed up to the hip joint. Although he was rushed to the Soc Trang Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment, he did not survive due to excessive blood loss.

Immediately after the incident, the Tran De District Labor Federation, Tran De Fishing Port Stevedoring Union and related units visited, shared the loss and supported expenses for Mr. P's family. In addition, the Head of the Tran De Fishing Port Stevedoring Union also promised to support Mr. P's parents with 1 million VND per month until the end of their lives. According to family members, Mr. P's family is in difficult circumstances, has no land, his parents are old and weak, his mother is sick, and Mr. P is one of the main workers in the family.

Mr. Quang Duc Danh - Deputy Director of Tran De Fishing Port Management Board said that in the coming time, the unit will coordinate with trade unions at all levels to organize training sessions on labor safety to raise awareness and accident prevention skills for union members and workers at Tran De Fishing Port.
