PV: Before becoming Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City for the 2019-2024 term, you worked as Director of the Department of Transport (from 2014 to 2021) and Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee (from 2021 to present) with practical and effective contributions to the overall development of Da Nang City. Could you please share a few details about your dedicated contributions to Da Nang?

Mr. Le Van Trung: Up to this point, many key traffic works have been started, invested in, completed and put into effective use, contributing significantly to the strong socio-economic development of Da Nang city and being the driving force for production development and smooth circulation of goods for the whole region, such as: Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway, Ho Chi Minh Road (La Son - Tuy Loan)...

As of December 31, 2019, Da Nang had 2,440 roads with a total length of 1,436.63 km (an increase of 265.59 km compared to the beginning of 2015), 74 bridges with a total length of 14,961.50 m (an increase of 3 bridges compared to the beginning of 2015) and 7 inland waterways with a total length of 63.2 km, including 2 national inland waterways; The operating capacity of Da Nang International Airport has reached about 13 million passengers.

In the period 2016-2020, the volume of goods transported is estimated to increase by 8.3%/year, the volume of passengers transported is estimated to increase by 9%/year and the transport revenue is estimated to increase by 6.6%/year; the volume of goods passing through the port is estimated to reach 43.1 million tons, an average increase of 9.3%/year.

In the period 2015-2020, Da Nang has 11/11 communes of Hoa Vang district recognized as meeting traffic criteria in new rural construction.

The role of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee has been promoted and clearly demonstrated, with the emphasis on propaganda, mobilization, and creating consensus among the people to implement the policy of site clearance, compensation, resettlement, and handover of land for key projects of the city; replicating effective "Smart Mass Mobilization" models and implementing democracy through the organization of 11 Supervisory Delegations from 2002 to 2002.

Can you share more about the goals and expectations before the 12th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Da Nang City for the 2024-2029 term?

- The 12th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Da Nang City, term 2024 - 2029, sets out the general goal: "Promoting the core political role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the strength of great national unity, enhancing social consensus; contributing to building Da Nang City into a smart, creative, unique and sustainable urban area".

Former General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed : "Solidarity is an extremely precious tradition of the nation, the source of strength for our nation to forever exist and develop, the red thread running through, the strategic line, and the vital meaning of the Vietnamese revolution."

In my new position as Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City, I will continue to make the highest contributions with the spirit of a "Front Person", implementing the motto of "Solidarity - Democracy - Creativity - Innovation", and together with the Standing Committee of the City Fatherland Front, proactively advise and propose solutions to successfully implement the goals set by the Congress.

The focus is to continue to build and strengthen the great national unity bloc, widely gather all classes of people, ensure high unity in ideology and action to well implement the policies of the Party Committee and the city government, towards the common goal of maintaining political and social stability, building an increasingly rich, peaceful, civilized and modern city, where people can have a prosperous and happy life.
