TSMC faces double risk
Taiwan's TSMC, the world's leading chipmaker, is facing two serious challenges: an unprecedented technology leak and political pressure from the United States.
Six engineers were arrested on suspicion of stealing trade secrets related to the production of 2-nanometer chips – a technology that has not yet been commercialized and is considered the most advanced today. Three were detained, including a former employee surnamed Chen who was accused of taking photos of confidential documents with his personal phone.

At the same time, President Trump announced that TSMC would have to buy 49% of Intel's shares. This would affect the company's operational independence and technological advantage. TSMC confirmed that it would only maintain its plan to invest 165 billion USD in Arizona, with no expansion plans as Trump announced.
